University of Canterbury
The University of Canterbury is the second oldest in the country, and is based on New Zealand’s South Island in Christchurch
Founded in 1873, the University of Canterbury was affected by the 2011 earthquakes that shook Christchurch, but is now experiencing a resurgence. Today, it offers courses in more than 80 subject areas to its 15,000 students. The main campus is based in the Ilam suburb in Christchurch, and has extensive gardens through which the Avon River flows.
