Frequently asked questions about student accommodation near Deakin University

How do I make a room booking near Deakin University on Student.com?

Booking your room on Student.com is very easy. First you’ll need to choose the right property for you. To help with this, you can use the filters on this page to find properties that offer your preferred room type, or are in your budget range. You can also use the filters for example to find properties with bills included or have certain facilities like an in-house gym.

Once you’ve found a property you like, click ‘View rooms’. This will take you to the property page where you can choose your preferred room type. Once you’ve found what you like, click ‘Enquire’ and fill in your details. One of our booking consultants will then contact you to answer any questions you may have and to take you through the booking process once you are ready to book.

Why should I live in off-campus accommodation instead of an on-campus room?

There are many reasons for booking a private room instead of going with an on-campus option. When you go off-campus, you can choose to live in any area of Melbourne you want, whether you want to live in Burwood right next to the campus, or closer to the city centre.

You can also choose freely whether you want to share a room with a flatmate or live in a private room that is just for you.

Many modern PBSAs (purpose-built student accommodations) also offer great amenities like in-house gyms as well as cinema and games rooms to their inhabitants.

What are the different room types you offer?

On Student.com we offer three different types of rooms. Do note however, that not all properties will offer all three different room types.

A Shared room is an option where you share your bedroom with a roommate. All other facilities are shared with students from other rooms.

A Private room gives you a private bedroom and in some properties also a private bathroom. Other facilities are shared with occupants of other rooms also in this option.

An Entire place is a room where you won’t have to share anything with anyone. You’ll get your own private bedroom and bathroom as well as a kitchenette for cooking your own meals. The perfect options for those who love some peace and quiet!

Do you offer postgraduate accommodation at Student.com?

Yes, you can book any accommodation on Student.com as long as you are a full-time student.

What bills are included in my rent?

This depends on the property you choose, but most of the properties we list have all bills included in the rent. Make sure to click ‘View rooms’ and check the property page to see if this is the case with the property you are interested in.
