Frequently asked questions about student accommodation near Aston University

How do I apply for student accommodation near Aston University?

Using Student.com is very simple. First you’ll need to choose the property where you’d like to stay and the dates you’ll be staying in the property. You can then make a request to book the property. One of our booking consultants will then call you to take you through the next steps before you can sign your contract and move in.

What payment methods do you accept?

You can pay your rent to the landlord by bank transfer or with a credit or debit card. You don’t have to pay anything to Student.com as our service is free to students.

How long do I have to book for?

We offer both long and short-term bookings. However, many of our properties have their own fixed move-in and move-out dates that correspond with the academic calendar. You can talk to one of our booking consultants if you require dates that don’t align with the academic year.

My friend will also be studying at Aston University. Can we live together?

Sure! Once you’ve submitted an application, you can log into our system and manage your preferences to state that you’d like to live together. Make sure your friend also does the same and states that they want to live with you.

Can I see the property before booking?

Yes. If you’ll be in Birmingham at some point before your moving in date, our booking consultants will be happy to arrange a viewing for you.

I noticed there are different types of rooms available. What do the different room types mean?

At Student.com we currently offer three different types of rooms for students.

A Shared Room has two or more people sleeping in separate beds in the same room. Any additional living space is shared with other rooms.

In a Private Room you have a private bedroom. Other facilities are shared with other rooms.

If you rent the Entire Place, you will get a fully self-contained property. This means that all your living space as well as cooking and bathing facilities are only for you.

Do I need a guarantor?

Typically, yes. Many of our properties require a guarantor if the tenant is unable to show satisfactory funds or income to support the rental payments. A guarantor is typically a family member, but can be anyone who will agree to co-sign the lease with you and be responsible for paying the rent in case you are unable to.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

Yes. In order to secure your booking you’ll have to pay a deposit. Your booking consultant will give you more information about how to do it.

My question was not answered here. Where can I find more information?

If you have any other questions, you can check our FAQ page or contact one of our booking consultants. They are always happy to help!
