Even better, you’re a short drive from the Gulf of Mexico, which is one of the best places to spot bottlenose dolphins. 

Dress up in garnet and gold to show your support for the Seminoles football team at Doak Campbell Stadium, and learn the Tomahawk Chop chant before you take your seat in the bleachers. If you’re not a sports fan, head downtown to learn more about local history at the Museum of Florida History, then ride the elevator to the 22nd floor of the State Capitol building to take in the panoramic views from the observation deck.

When you’re in the mood for shopping, you’ll find all the big name stores at Governor’s Square Mall. If you need to buy groceries, check out the local suppliers at The Cottages at Lake Ella and pick up fresh fruit and vegetables from the Growers’ Market. 

After dark, catch an independent movie at All Saints Cinema, or venture into the woods to Bradfordville Blues Club; follow the tiki torches down the dirt track until you reach this historic juke joint under the stars. Don’t forget to bring cash so that you can feast on fish and fries at Earnestine’s Catfish Shack.
