Where is American University located?
American University’s main campus sits just off Ward Circle, at the meeting point of the Spring Valley and Cathedral Heights neighborhoods in northwest DC. It’s about six miles from downtown, which gives it a nice neighborhood feel.
Still, it’s only a short journey to the heart of the city – trains departing from nearby Tenleytown-AU station reach Union Station in just over 15 minutes, while there are also several bus services which get you to downtown in 25 minutes.
