We understand that COVID-19 has caused significant disruption and uncertainty to your studies and plans. Belong is here to help make this time less stressful for you.
For new bookings from 1 October 2021, if you experience the following circumstances (“Cancellation Conditions”):
• Enrolment or Visa Denied
If your enrolment or visa application is rejected or cancelled, or the visa centre in your country is closed or not processing visas;
• Flight Cancellation/Travel ban
If your scheduled flight is cancelled due to COVID-19 and there are no alternative flights available for a period of 4 weeks from your scheduled flight date, or if there is a travel ban preventing you from departing your country or arriving in Australia within 4 weeks of your scheduled move-in date; or
• University/Education Provider intake delay
If your university, college or school has delayed or suspended the semester start-date by more than 6 weeks, or does not offer face to face learning,
you are entitled to either defer or cancel your booking as outlined below:
You can delay your booking until the following semester or year. For semester deferrals, the same terms from your original booking will apply. For year deferrals, new terms may apply as negotiated between you and Belong.
You can cancel your booking by emailing us at least 14 days before your scheduled move-in date and providing supporting documents. If we are satisfied that one of the Cancellation Conditions listed above applies, we will provide a full refund of your deposit and any pre-paid rent, less a $500 administration fee.
If you cancel your booking with Belong in any other circumstance than where a Cancellation Condition applies, the deposit is not refundable. We will refund any pre-paid rent in full.
If you cancel your booking after signing a lease agreement, the termination process will be governed by the provisions of that lease agreement.
* This policy only applies to new bookings from 1 October 2021 for students currently located outside of Australia
