Lavanda, the award-winning technology platform powering flexible rental strategies for the world’s leading student accommodation operators, today announced a strategic partnership with Student.com, the world’s largest student housing marketplace.
This collaboration integrates Lavanda OpenPMS, the company’s pioneering property management platform, with Student.com’s global accommodation marketplace – establishing it as a key distribution partner alongside Lavanda’s existing channels including Airbnb, Booking.com, and over 420 leading online travel agencies. Clients of Lavanda will now be able to market their short-stay accommodation directly to Student.com’s highly targeted global audience of students through its website and app – significantly enhancing visibility, reach, and booking conversion.
Lavanda’s integration with Student.com marks the first phase of a broader strategic partnership that will enable supply from leading Purpose Built Student Accommodation (“PBSA”) and university managed accommodation to be seamlessly marketed on Student.com and receive short-term bookings of up to 3 months. Phase two will focus on longer-term leasing of Lavanda’s clients’ accommodation – including 42-week and 51-week bookings. This phased rollout strengthens both platforms’ ability to serve the evolving needs of modern students seeking flexible, safe, high-quality accommodation year-round.
“With demand for more flexible student accommodation accelerating year-on-year, this partnership is a significant milestone for our clients,” said Fred Lerche-Lerchenborg, CEO of Lavanda. “Student.com combines a trusted brand with deep market reach and an engaged global audience. This integration enhances our multichannel distribution strategy, maximising occupancy and revenue for our student accommodation partners – both PBSA and university portfolios.”
Student.com is revolutionising student housing with its new business strategy and launch of its instant booking platform at the beginning of the year that sets a new standard in the industry. With its targeted growth strategy, Student.com is significantly expanding its services and reach by integrating Lavanda’s cutting-edge rental technology.
“We’re very pleased to partner with Lavanda to offer students even greater flexibility and choice in how they book accommodation,” said Rupert Spiegelberg, CEO of Student.com. “Student.com is the first major student housing marketplace to enter the fast-growing short stay market. This allows us to cater to students looking for accommodation for summer schools, exchange programmes or international travel.
This partnership means Lavanda’s growing client base can integrate seamlessly with Student.com, the world’s only instant booking platform for student housing. This allows students to book accommodation in the moment, saving them money and valuable time. It also enhances our partners experience by improving conversion rates and user experience.”
The integration is already live, enabling Lavanda clients to seamlessly list and manage their short-stay accommodation on Student.com via Lavanda’s platform.
