The School of Advanced Study is the UK’s centre for research into the humanities and social sciences. It is based in Senate House, the imposing Bloomsbury building that also houses the University of London’s central library, and is made up of 10 institutes covering fields including classics, history and research into the Commonwealth. Students can live in Bloomsbury itself, walk from nearby Kings Cross or take a tube from the vibrant Camden area, just 10 minutes away.
