You can head out from 384A Barrington Street and cycle 15 minutes to the city centre of Christchurch and to classes at Ara Institute of Canterbury. Take a 10-minute drive to the University of Canterbury, or leave your car at home and cycle to campus in 20 minutes. Buses also run from right outside your door, so you’ll have no problem getting around.
In your downtime, walk to Lincoln Road and visit the cafés and bars of Addington, or pop to the shops to pick up essentials. Hop in your car and be exploring the coastline, parklands and nature reserves on weekends.
If you’ve been out for a drive, come home and park in your parking space in front of your home. Come inside and rest on the couch in the common lounge area, catching up with your housemates, or sit out on the balcony if the weather’s nice.
You’ll be sharing with five housemates, so there’ll always be company if you fancy it. You’ll have your own private bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and lockable door for when you need some privacy. Cook meals together in the large kitchen that’s been specially designed for sharing – there are two hobs so you won’t have to take turns, and two washing machines which will help you stay on top of your chores.
Back in your room you’ll sleep comfortably with double glazed windows, heating and soundproofed walls. There’s broadband and a phone line in each room, so you’ll be able to stay connected. Keep your room tidy storing all your belongings in the spacious closets – you won’t need to worry about the common lounge area staying neat as it’s cleaned weekly.
