On your way to campus, stop in for breakfast at Nun Coffeehouse, located on the same block as your student housing at Youniq Karlsruhe. You can head out the door for dinner at Flammaurant restaurant two blocks away and order flammkuchen, a pizza-like Alsatian specialty. On Sundays, enjoy brunch with live music at Der Vogel beer garden, then spend the afternoon at Karlsruhe Natural History Museum to see giant dinosaurs and exhibits about German nature. On your way home, make a short detour to the lush Schlossgarten municipal park and 200-year old Karlsruher Schloss.
Wake up and start your day at Youniq Karlsruhe in your kitchenette. Grab a mug from your cabinet and make a pot of coffee while you check your messages before heading out to class. You can cycle to Karlsruher Institut für Technologie and Hochschule Karlsruhe in less than 10 minutes. Karlshochschule International University is also accessible in a 25-minute walk. To connect to public transportation, just go around the corner from your home where you’ll find a regional tram station.
After lectures are finished for the day, come back and place your bike in the parking facility. Head inside to the community area where you will be greeted by the reception staff. Catch up on the news with a cable TV connection in your room, then break open the books for a reading from your textbook.
When you’re ready for a break from your studies, grab a cold drink from your refrigerator and kick back on the courtyard lawn. Later, you can make a quick dinner with your microwave, and enjoy it at the kitchen table. Clean up your dishes in the sink, before getting back to your homework. Pull out your laptop and log onto high-speed internet to plan out your assignments for the coming week.
Before getting ready for bed, open the door to your tiled bathroom and step into the glass shower. After getting washed up, freshen up your wardrobe in the laundry lounge with washing machines and dryers in the residence building.
