Cabana Beach San Marcos

I have only taken a tour and briefly talked to staff but they have been beyond wonderful I cannot wait to move in and be apart of such a wonderful community. Even just taking the tour the staff was talking to the residents and knew their name.

the most bullshit apartment i have ever lived in. for the past 3 months that have insisted on renovating the unit that i and three other people continue to live in, leaving our bathrooms and kitchen nonfunctional, even though all of us are moving out in a month. once we move out this unit will be empty for over 4 weeks, giving them ample time to renovate to their hearts content. they have 0 respect for residents, 0 respect for their residents comfort, and constantly disrupt the daily lives and routines and functions of those living here. they are incredibly predatory, especially towards students who may be living on their own for the first time and not know what is and what is not acceptable for an apartment conglomerate to do— which allows them to get away with tearing up occupied spaces instead of waiting for a more appropriate time to do the “upgrades” that are part of their “5.5 million dollar renovation.” any txst student looking for off campus housing; i would skip this one. the units are outdated and sad and you can find much better for the same price, if not cheaper. and, and the very least, find some complex that respects its residents, at least to convince them to continue spending your entire paycheck on rent, because CB can’t even do that right. ALSO! if you think the amenities might make it worth it, they randomly lock up the pool and gym, giving no notice or reason for closure. 60% of the already small and limited gym equipment is broken anyway.

I drove to San Marcos with the intention of only touring apartments and making my decision later, but after touring with Josie I returned about 2 hours later and signed. After touring 4 apartments previously, we were tempted to just drive home and maybe tour Cabana Beach another day (thank God we didn’t). We walked in with the plan of just taking a quick tour and picking up a flier, but then we were kindly welcomed by Josie. She took the time to break down all the details, never made me feel rushed, and made sure I fully understood everything throughout the process. She was welcoming, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience feel easy and genuine. Highly recommend touring here even if it’s not at the top of your list!
