I lived at Acero for over a year and had a great experience overall. The property is well maintained, and you can tell there’s pride in how it’s run. The property manager and leasing manager were both incredibly professional, responsive, and easy to work with. Any questions or concerns were handled quickly and respectfully, which makes a huge difference when you’re living somewhere long term. The maintenance crew also deserves a big shout out. Requests were addressed promptly, communication was clear, and the work was always done right the first time. It’s reassuring to know that issues are taken seriously and not brushed off. I genuinely enjoyed living at Acero and would recommend it to anyone looking for a place where management and maintenance actually care about the residents and the property.

Honestly the environment and atmosphere was alluring. Very beautiful scenery of the property itself was enlightening. I felt like this was the right place. The patio with the telescope on the back. The pool was quite the high vibe of relaxation. I love that. Im willing to raise me and my family, grow and expand. Karen was quite gorgeous and charismatic. She was the icing on top. Glad that I met her. May she be blessed. Divine Chaos✨️💛🩷🧡🩵

Absolutely loved Acero and wish I didn’t have to move but my commute was getting to be well over an hour. Best apartment in my 6 years of apartment living! The management and staff is amazing, very responsive, friendly and knowledgeable. They also have a ton of events like barbecues, wine tastings, dog treats/vendors and more. Proximity to downtown and Southtown was perfect. Close enough but not close to hear all the noise minus the train on a few occasions. Loved being able to be close to my favorite businesses like Leche de Tigre, Bamboo, Southbound Coffee and Gold Coffee. It’s also close to BlueStar river walk access perfect for a morning stroll. Main building (building 1) is best compared to the exterior buildings (I had lived in 2 my first year) if you’re a light sleeper because the train can be loud and echoes along with the occasional muscle cars/people that love to peel out and rev their engines. Also, the gym was 10/10 has a stairmaster, cycle room, yoga room, plenty of weights and treadmills. Only issue I ever had was loose dogs on a few occasions due to negligent owners but management did communicate multiple times for dogs to be on a leash. If you’re picky like me this is definitely the place to be. Aesthetic layout and design, washer and dryer included, huge balconies, friendly staff, prompt work orders, maintained amenities, clean property and overall a wonderful place to call home.

Key points: Train/road noise No parking Dirty and unkept The train is a real disturbance, as well as the highway noise and construction. There is zero effort from the complex to mitigate the noise. Little to no trees, sound insulation, or double pane windows, so you might as well have your windows open in the units facing the track because they make no difference. There is no warning or any indication about the complex’s proximity to the tracks when touring or signing the lease (unless you get lucky and are here when one comes through), so be sure to do your research on whatever unit you may be looking at and its orientation relative to the tracks. There is a crossing near the north west corner of the complex so that is where the horn sound is worst. Parking is a joke! Visitors are forced to park on street even though there are 20-30 empty parking spots every night inside of the complex. There is maybe 10-15 “visitor” spots at the front of the main building, but good luck ever getting a spot there. They don’t give guests the courtesy of having a pedestrian gate at the side entrance to walk out to get to the street parking on that side. You either have to walk around the entire block to get back to your car, wait for someone to come through the car gate, or have resident with gate remote open the car gate for you. Tow trucks are here all the time, so your luck is bound to run out if you park inside without a pass. If you plan on having frequent visitor(s), the parking situation is a real pain. All stair cases are covered in bird droppings and nesting materials. There is even bird droppings in the interior hallways that do not get cleaned up. Frankly at this point, it’s getting out of hand and disgusting. Residents are tracking bird droppings into their units, which is completely unsanitary. Gates are broken for days to weeks at a time. Some of the front office staff are rude and unhelpful. Public restrooms near the pool never have toilet paper, soap, or hand towels. Just to name a few others. Don’t be fooled by the name having “Southtown” in it. While it technically still is in Southtown, you are a 15+ minute walk from Blue Star and right on the boarder of some rough parts of town. The only thing this place has going for it is the unit is pretty decent. Kitchen and bathroom are nice. However, all other issues bring quality of life down significantly, so to me, the nice unit does make up for it.

Acero is hands down one of the best places to live in San Antonio and I am glad I chose this place as my home. I decided to move to downtown at the end of 2020 and viewed nearly most of the properties here. I chose Southtown because of its proximity to my workplace and acquaintances. One of the better options I found was Cevallos Lofts but the floor plan I liked was not available. The very helpful property manager Alisha recommended Acero and I am glad we corresponded over email. She was extremely helpful and assisted me throughout the application process. Going into my second month here, I couldn't be happier. The amenities here are fantastic: extremely well equipped gym, mail room, game room, pool area; the place is upscale and cozy at the same time. Management has a super fast response time and have followed up on my inquiries within the same hour for the most part. One downside, which doesn't really bother me, but may affect some is the fact that parts of this property are still under construction. However, the management is very careful in leasing units only on completed floors. Feel free to visit, look around and hope you end up as happy as I am with my apartment.
