I lived here for a year and had actually renewed my lease to stay longer, but ongoing unresolved issues ultimately forced me to leave. When I first moved in, I was quoted one rental amount, but my unit was switched and I was placed in a different apartment at a higher rent than originally discussed, along with gas charges and unusually high water bills. That was my first concern. I also experienced serious maintenance and habitability problems. I submitted a request about visible mold on the HVAC vents. Although the vents were replaced, mold-like spots kept appearing, and the underlying moisture issue was never fully investigated or resolved. There were multiple cracks in the walls, including cracks that led to water leaks, along with ongoing pest problems such as spiders and roaches. These issues pointed to persistent moisture intrusion and possible structural concerns. I had recently given birth, and the combination of mold, moisture, structural damage, and pests made the apartment feel unsafe for a newborn. After dealing with repeated leaks, the last one was the final straw, and I had no choice but to move out for my childâs health and safety. Another major concern was that squatters were reportedly staying in vacant units on the property, which made the environment feel even more unsafe. I recommend future renters thoroughly inspect their unit for signs of water damage, mold, and pests, and make sure all pricing and unit details are clearly documented in writing before signing.

I had a very disappointing experience with Glend Highpoint Apartments. When I moved in, I paid a $250 security deposit in cash. The employee at the time told me I did not need a receipt because the deposit was listed in my lease agreement. Later, management claimed that I never paid a deposit, even though my lease clearly states a $250 deposit. They then told me I should not have paid cash and that cash payments are considered a âgiftâ to employees unless you have a receipt. This was never explained to me at the time of payment, and it feels like they are shifting responsibility onto the tenant. Throughout my two years living there, I often avoided going to the office because of how unprofessional and dismissive the staff were. Tenants are not treated with respect or professionalism, and it often feels like you are being talked down to rather than helped with their nasty behaviour. The only reason I stayed 2 years is because the inside of the apartment is beautiful to me I truly loved my unit and the maintenance team deserves credit as well. They were quick, kind, and respectful every time I place work order. I am thankful to be done with this place and to have moved on to a community where people treat tenants with respect and as business partners, not like a problem.

I am a current resident at The Glen at Highpoint and had a concern regarding a service request. When I visited the office Ms. Pippins greeted me immediately as I walked in. She listened attentively and took immediate action to address my service request. I was delighted to see the service request had been completed that same evening when I returned home. I'd like to acknowledge her great customer service skills and thank her for caring for residents. It's great to live in a community where management cares about us!

I am updating my review after two years at this complex and one year after my last update. I'm on the lease, I don't know why they commented with that response. Things have not improved, the biggest issuesâsafety and pestsâremain serious concerns. Do not be tempted by low rent if you have that financial ability. Not only will you need to spend on pesticide, there are other bills that don't make sense. The water bill for my unit is always around $130, even with 4 empty units on my side. The money you "save" on cheap rent will go to out of pocket costs for pest control, pesticides, water, and power. The seals on the doors and windows leave gaps and don't ACTUALLY fit the windows. There are power outages and/or water being shut off at least once a month, the buildings were done with extreme cost savings in mind, so things like wiring, internet lines, and plumbing are constant issues. If you wfh, you will be impacted by power outages and bad internet lines. I've had to replace electronics, even when they're plugged into surge protectors during outages. Imagine your $500 PS5 or your kid's school computer getting fried. Gunshots are heard 1-2x monthly, more common than the previous. Cars are stolen from lots. Apartments, occupied and vacant, are broken into repeatedly. Repairs to doors and windows happen, but these are broken into within days of fixes. (Ultimately these costs are paid for by the resident. Our rent goes towards this.) The mail center door is often broken, leaving residentsâ mail vulnerable and the complex blames the residents. Gates are constantly breaking and being repaired, management sends almost daily emails that say they cannot stop their say to program a key card for the gate. Meanwhile, trash collects around buildings and parking areas, potholes continue to worsen (they say they're fixing them but the last time they did that, the pot hole was back within months) and common spaces are neglected. Amenities are unreliable: the gym has been closed for months with no clear updates, its AC broken, restrooms unusable, and windows nailed shut. The community issues make the property feeling unsafe, poorly managed, and uncared for. The renovations promised improvements, but were largely cosmetic. Inside the ârenovatedâ units, the problems are hard to miss. Floors peel and lift in kitchens and bathrooms, dried paint all over the paneling on the ground, baseboards were never replaced, ceilings still show construction holes, and cabinet shelves despite being empty, countertops split at the seams, sink basins peel, and faucets released rust-colored water at first use. The air filters were FILTHY at move in. Windows donât seal properly and glass panes donât fit the frames. Leftover debris beneath the flooring is now pressing through, creating damage that only gets worse over time. Equally concerning, pest infestations were never truly addressed. During renovations, entire buildings were emptied, yet no real effort was made to eliminate roaches and other bugs. Infestations remain widespread. Bugs crawl out at night, move through cracks in counters and cabinets, into fridge crevices, dishwashers, etc. Even with cleaning, sanitizing, and hiring pest control, I'm constantly battling this and that could and should have been solved when units were vacant. Management turnover is constant and it shows through inconsistent communication and lack of accountability. When I recently inquired about a transfer, I was told no units were availableâwithout being asked what size apartment I needed. When I clarified, I was still told nothing was open, despite knowing myself that there were two empty units directly below mine. I even saw another staff member showing one of those very units to a prospective tenant that same day. Empty apartments are left unsecured, broken into, and trashed, only worsening the pest and safety issues for everyone. Pictures included. The pest services by the apartment do not help, regardless of what they say and they know they have a problem but have done nothing different to solve it.

Gloria was the most helpful person that I have been in contact with. I love her will to help and her understanding Update: it is horrible I moved into a newly renovated apartment and was still dealing with bug coming out of my wall socket as well as my roof leaking from God knows where and it also leaks from the bottom of my wall. Told office staff for them to say I have to call while it's happening like it makes a difference because maintenance doesn't respond until you go into the office yelling and even then they get an attitude with you. Wish I knew before I moved here
