SCC’s management are frauds who will make you pay erroneous fees, in violation of the terms of their leases. They are responsible for cleaning apartments before new residents move in, yet they left my unit with a filthy bathroom, dirty floors, and hairs scattered everywhere that I had to clean upon moving in. Then, while the lease clearly states they would immediately discard unwanted items you left behind upon moving out (I left just a couple small broken electronics), they instead boxed and taped these items for me to collect, which I did not request of them to do and I did not go back to receive the items, and charged $100 for doing this. They are legally obligated to inform tenants in the lease of all services they charge fees for, yet the lease said nothing about them boxing left items and charging for this. They then sent conflicting emails about when their erroneous charge is due, first saying due September 19 then later saying on September 5 it is already due. This apartment tries to get away with denying tenancy rights. Don’t waste your time living in this apartment with dishonest and greedy management.

Move-In Experience: I thought when you're handed keys to an apartment...it's supposed to be clean. The apartment in building 3 was filthy! The floors were so dirty, the bathroom cabinet had a white powder buildup on the metal bits, the furniture was dusty.

i love living in commons. maintenance and management are respectful and efficient and my packages are always processed quickly. the only qualms i have about living here are how thin the walls are and the outdated appliances. besides these issues, i really could not have asked for a better housing experience at this price.

Customer service is terrible. My friend apparently forgot to sign the lease to our apartment so our spot had to be filled with someone else. Didn’t receive any email or notification about getting a new roommate because it’s not “policy” since we’re living in different spaces according to them. They completely ignore the fact that we all have to share a living space together for at least a semester, and that we prefer roommates who will mesh well with our living styles. Absolutely no communication about such an important development, and on top of that, when I called and politely confronted them about the issue, the representative had a passive-aggressive attitude with me. Management needs to change here ASAP. Your “customer service” and “policy” stink.

The service staff is super nice, however that does not fix the state of the rooms. I wish I could give a 0 stars. The quality of these apartments (for the price that we pay) is abysmal. The only reason students might live here is to save money, but honestly do yourself a favor and go live at Landmark or T-Row. Living in SCC puts a damper on your whole year.
