The Leighton

The Leighton is one place I would absolutely give 0 stars if I could. This apartment complex and management team were an absolute nightmare. They are incredibly fake during the leasing process, acting overly nice and making promises just to get you locked into a lease ESPECIALLY Ledgin. She told me as I was doing my tour of the apartments “I’ll give you two months free washer and dryer but don’t tell anyone I said that!” And of course at the time I thought this place was going to be great but that was just one of the things to get me to sign the lease as if she was doing me some great “favor”. Come my first months rent of course the washer and dryer charge is on there so I call to ask why and Ledgin says WORD FOR WORD “that’s part of your fees and lease agreement I would’ve never said that it was free so if you can prove to me that I said that then I’ll take it off” So of course I send her the email of her OWN words saying it would be free and then she all of a sudden becomes apologetic and removes it. Same thing with the “$500 off” the first months rent. She told me “Lexy and I want to give you $500 off your first month if you sign with us because you’re so great” (as it’s literally advertised as a special for everyone) I should’ve known better she doesn’t care who you are she just wants your money. Then of course I owe that EXACT amount later on and she says “well it will all even out for you” The second you sign, the attitude changes completely. The model that they show you during the tour is perfect and clean especially the back yard area. The unit I moved into had so many weeds and broken glass from the window that was shattered and later on I was charged for those weeds as a “lease violation”. If you decide to live here I recommend having EVERY single thing in writing. Do not call them, email instead because a paper trail is the only way you won’t be charged every month with random fees. The amount of hidden fees and random charges has been ridiculous. It felt like every month there was some new excuse to take more money and another phone call or email I had to make to them. Nothing is explained clearly upfront, and when you question anything, they become rude, defensive, and completely unhelpful. I ended up breaking my year lease after just 5 months because I couldn’t do it anymore. And even after the lease break it still didn’t stop. An entire months rent was taken out of my checking account 3 months after I’ve been moved out. Now I’m stuck trying to figure out how to get my money back. Management talks down to tenants and acts like basic customer service is some kind of inconvenience. Instead of solving problems, they make you feel like you’re bothering them for expecting the bare minimum. I have never dealt with such unprofessional people in my life. Save yourself the stress, money, and frustration and rent literally anywhere else. There are too many apartment options out there to settle for a place that treats tenants this poorly and makes you stress and wonder what you’ll be paying every month. Living here was one of my biggest regrets.

Robert and Paul are the best maintenance crew around! My roommate had a work order that they quickly fixed and when I asked them to take a look at an issue I was having, they immediately agreed and were so kind! They were very friendly and were in and out in less than five minutes. I’m so appreciative of their time!

I have lived at the Leighton since it was under construction so over 2.5 years both Lexi and Legiend are both the most sweetest people I’ve ever met! They are so helpful and make sure concerns are always addressed! Everyone is so friendly and waves and they both operate in a professional manner and kindness.

Maintenance is great! friendly, attentive, and made sure my problem was fixed.
