Portofino Apartments

This property is marketed as “luxury,” but my nearly 3 years at Portofino say otherwise. After being relocated due to flooding in my original unit, I dealt with ongoing, unresolved issues. My balcony was completely unusable for my entire tenancy due to extreme bird waste, at times inches deep. The only solution ever offered was occasional power washing. I also experienced ceiling leaks where water sat for days with no internal inspection or mold assessment, only cosmetic patching. Other issues, including a leaking patio door and a broken storage door, lingered for months. I paid on time, documented everything, and met with management repeatedly. There were multiple managers, and each time I was told, “This is all we can do.” If you’re signing a long lease, know this: amenities may be unusable, maintenance may be temporary, and serious issues can go unresolved for months or years. I would not rent here again.

I lived at Portofino Apartments for several years and overall had a good experience. The unit was nice, maintenance was responsive, and I had no real complaints while living there. I paid over $40,000 during my lease and never missed a payment, often paying a week early. However, the experience after moving out has been extremely unprofessional. I vacated the unit with a formal lease end date of March 31, 2025. I was told I would receive my security deposit of over $1,000 by mail 30 days after the lease ended. I have written confirmation that I am owed this money and that there were no wrong doing or damages on my part. Despite multiple follow ups, I still have not received the check. Management continues to claim it was sent but has not been able to provide any proof of mailing, only verbal statements. I have confirmed multiple times that they have my correct forwarding address. It is disappointing that after being a responsible tenant I now am pursing legal action over an issue that can easily have been avoided by following thier own contracts.
