I've loved living here so far and have had great experiences with management!

I lived here for a year and had some really troubling experiences that ruined what should have been a great apartment. I want to start with what I loved about this complex: the apartments are beautiful and full of character. The complex itself was super well landscaped, cared for, and in a very quiet neighborhood that made my commutes to work and school very easy. The maintenance staff were always very friendly and did good, quick work which was rarely needed. However, I dealt with a persistent rodent issue for weeks in this unit. For nearly three months, I constantly found mice droppings throughout the unit and I felt that the complex allowed the issue to continue by not sealing the many entrance points around the unit. When these were eventually sealed, the rodent activity immediately stopped but by this point I hadn't been sleeping in the apartment for a few weeks due to my bed and linens being soiled by excrements. Not only did the complex never comp my rent for the near three months I dealt with this, but I spent an additional $1,000+ to replace my mattress+linens, as well as having to throw away clothes that had been ruined. The only apologies I ever received were from my maintenance team. Additionally, I dealt with a very bad upstairs neighbor. As the floors are wood, you can expect a bit more sound to travel through the units, but I felt all of my other neighbors were very mindful of this. My upstairs neighbor, however, had very frequent domestic disputes, yelling, crying, screaming, etc. that were loud enough that people on the phone could hear it. There would be nights that I would be awoken at 2 or 3 AM to loud banging, furniture being dragged around, kitchen cabinets being slammed, laundry, etc.I additionally dealt with doggy diapers and cigarettes constantly being thrown over onto my balcony by her. I brought this up with my landlord multiple times and was told it would be dealt with and never was. I rented this apartment for my final school year as I wrote my dissertation as I thought it would be a comfy and quiet place to focus. Unfortunately, there were very many times that it was not and very many nights that I slept elsewhere because of these issues. My issues with the management were significant; however, I am aware management has changed shortly before I left. Hopefully these things are handled differently in the future, as these were otherwise beautiful apartments.
