MANAGMENT TAKES YOUR MONEY THEN NEVER ANSWERS!! I am beyond frustrated with the experience my client and I had at The Carolyn. My client applied and paid all required application fees, yet we never received a single follow-up. I had to call and email every single day for weeks without getting an answer. When I finally reached someone and put my client on a three-way call, the very first question the staff member asked was, "Does your client speak English?" This was incredibly offensive and bizarre, as my client had just greeted them in perfect English. It leaves us wondering if the lack of communication and the retention of his application fees without a decision is tied to his Spanish surname. Holding application money without providing a "denied" or "approved" status is unacceptable. The onsite experience was just as poor: Locked Doors: We tried to schedule a tour but could never get anyone on the phone. When we showed up during business hours, the doors were locked. We stood outside knocking while staff members literally looked at us and walked away. We finally walked in through the garage and someone let us in. Phone Conduct: Every time we managed to get a ringing line, the staff would pick up and immediately hang up or not answer at all. Management Issues: We were told Denver was the manager, but they never reached out or returned a single message and he showed us the unit.. why would you not follow up? If anyone has the corporate contact information, please share it. It is unprofessional (and potentially a legal matter) to take application fees and then completely ghost the applicant. Avoid this place if you value your time or fair treatment. I do not know if maybe they are steering away from hispanics or what but it is not right and not legal. I have proof of all of my emails and calls with no response.

I’m currently a resident at Carolyn and have only been living here for 3 months, and unfortunately it has been the worst experience I’ve had at an apartment complex. Since the management changed, the quality of service has drastically declined. The new management is extremely unresponsive. I’ve called multiple times just in the past week alone, and the phone either rings endlessly or hangs up. It’s nearly impossible to get in touch with anyone. There has been trash all over the garage floor for weeks. I’ve gone down to the office multiple times to report it, and nothing has been done. The lack of cleanliness and urgency is very concerning. I’ve also submitted maintenance requests, and weeks have passed without any response or follow-up. As a resident, it’s frustrating to feel ignored, especially when it comes to basic maintenance and safety concerns. I would strongly recommend thinking twice before signing a lease here. Based on my experience so far, I would advise others to stay away

Have tried calling them for two weeks to setup a tour. Finally got in contact with someone name, Priscilla. She immediately, told me to just walk-in on Saturday at 9 am without getting my name. Here I am standing outside the office at 9 in 20 degrees weather and the office is closed because it opens at 10. Never had an apartment try so hard to not get an easy yes to their lease. So unprofessional. Do better.

We are the very first residents of the Carolyn currently on our 5th renewal, we have a beautiful 3 bedroom apartment, Brigitte, Crystal, Nick and Colton are very professional and smiling always available to help out. Location is excellent and we love our balcony views of Lake Carolyn. Maintenance staff is very responsive and reachable within an hour during emergencies. I recommend you choose The Carolyn for your new home.

3 year resident review. - I will start by saying after living here since 2021, the one thing I found to be luxury was really only the price of these apartments. If this property was removed from the lake, it would be a below average property at best. -Amenities: Nearly 3/4ths of them no longer work. By the time I left only 2 of the 4 treadmills worked, there are 2 Peloton bikes along side them but can’t connect to the WiFi which I have suspected to be down due to the multiple TVs that are off. They also used to have the TVs on the treadmills get football games etc, and now nothing. The pool sticks are all ruined and can’t be used, in my last summer I was there the pool was down nearly most of the summer including other Spring holiday weekends. None of the grills also in the pool area ever work as well. - Gym: if the gym is a big piece for you this will be the last place to look, outside of the multiple problems they have had including other attachments gone missing from the machines. This is possibly the smallest gym on the whole street and possibly even Irving. - Dog park: as pictured, the dog park is just a closed off patch of grass. Well it was grass until they stopped caring for the grass and other plants that have been cut to avoid taking care of and is now dirt. So if you have a furry friend and it rains you’re out of luck and is just mud from that point. Also, since moving in at 2021 the door to the park hasn’t worked or been fixed since. - Lakeside Entrance: this is a nice spot however has grown to be a problem with the public. I have walked along the whole lake and this is maybe one of maybe two properties that allow access straight up to the complex and grounds. A lot of families and other people walk up, also with dogs and will leave their feces behind (This was an issue because a previous management was going to fine residents up to 500 dollars per incident). This has also gained to be another issue which plays into security. - Security: this I believe was the biggest issue for the property. Again, the backside lake side is nice but the door maybe worked a couple weeks within my last month there. Often people would get locked out and have to walk all the way around if the door shut behind you, and your fob would never work. As pictured, often the door would be left open with some sort of object like a rock and people will mysteriously walk into the building. Most of those individuals tend to be the homeless, the issue grew to be so much that they had to send out an email to the community that homeless people had been sleeping in the general areas and for everyone to close the door behind them rather than resolving the fob/lock issue. Also pictured the security gate for cars had rarely ever been fixed which resulted into multiple break ins and others using the garage. I also had an incident of a homeless man talking to me as I was walking away and told me “usually this door is open”, and by the sounds of it frequently went into the building. Management: in my 3.5 years of being here the management changed every year with 3 different managements having take over this property. It may not be much but some were worse than others. And constantly changed over to new parking rules, new apps to download, etc. Fire alarms constantly going off was another huge issue (YourWayManagement), which I would avoid at all costs. ZRSManagement hasn’t done a bad job but not a great one either as they felt more reactive to issues than proactively trying to better the property. Keep looking around in Irving for other apartments. With all the issues going on they insisted to raise my monthly rate from about 325-350 a month which was ultimately what was what made me look else where. From the entire time I was there as well my dishwasher was broken and never got to use it. I was told it was going to be fixed, and then replaced but neither ended up happening. It is a shame I was never able to utilize where I lived for so long.
