I have been living at The Retreat for the past 16 months, and unfortunately, my experience has been very unpleasant. First, the constant banging noise from the tenant upstairs has been extremely stressful. The noise comes from heavy stomping when they walk, starting early in the morning and continuing daily from around 6:00 PM until about 10:00 PM. This has significantly affected my ability to rest and enjoy my home. Second, the noise from children in the playground and grass area near my unit is overwhelming. The screaming is often deafening, and children frequently run around the pool area without any adult supervision, which raises serious safety concerns. Third, there is an ongoing issue with pet owners allowing their pets to defecate in the grass areas—including areas where children play—without cleaning up after them. This is unsanitary and unacceptable. I have reported these issues multiple times to the apartment manager, Emily Long, but no meaningful action has been taken. To make matters worse, when the trash compactor broke, trash piled up for an extended period. The smell and flies were so bad that it created a serious health concern. I also attempted to contact the regional manager for several months and never received a response. Overall, management has been unresponsive, and basic quality-of-life and sanitation issues are not being addressed. I would not recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet, well-managed community.

I've been here for nearly 2 years and I am extremely happy, the community is well maintained there has never been a time when I needed something even if it was outside of the community that Emily and the staff did not accommodate. I love everything that Emily does for the community for the holidays. She has amazing ideas and with an amazing Manager comes an amazing staff. I am always greeted with a smile and laughter. Can't wait to see what the next idea will be. (Diann Lewis-Mouton) Resident

I do NOT recommend living at this apartment complex. There are serious safety, cleanliness, and management issues that have been ongoing, and nothing is being done to fix them. Car theft and vandalism are a major problem. Multiple cars in this complex have had their wheels stolen and are left sitting on bricks for days, sometimes weeks. There is little to no visible security, no urgency from management, and no reassurance to residents. This is extremely unsafe and stressful, especially when you’re worried your own car could be next. Trash is constantly left overflowing and unmanaged. Dumpsters are surrounded by piles of garbage, furniture, boxes, and debris. This is not only unsanitary but also attracts pests and wildlife. The trash areas are clearly neglected, and management does not enforce proper disposal or timely cleanup. Because of this negligence, snakes have been found INSIDE apartments. This is not a small issue or a one-time occurrence. Snakes entering living spaces is a serious health and safety concern. When reported, management brushed it off and blamed “outside conditions” instead of taking responsibility or providing real solutions. No proper pest control or preventative measures were taken. Residents are paying to live here and deserve basic safety, cleanliness, and accountability, but management consistently fails to respond appropriately. Complaints are ignored or minimized, and residents are left to deal with dangerous situations on their own. Between: • Cars being stolen and vandalized • Trash piling up everywhere • Wildlife and snakes entering apartments • Lack of security and poor management response This complex is not safe and not well-managed. I strongly urge anyone considering moving here to think twice. Management needs to take responsibility and make immediate changes before someone gets seriously hurt.

I moved in about a week ago, and the application and move-in process was super easy thanks to the leasing office team. What really impressed me was tonight—it’s 11 PM on Christmas Eve, I got locked out, and Augustine from maintenance showed up within 5 minutes and opened the door with no delay. On a holiday like that, that’s next-level service. Definitely feel like I made the right choice moving here. Huge thanks to Augustine—an amazing professional.

I changed my earlier 5 star review to single star due an issue incident which is extremely disappointing considering our 3 year stay at Retreat without giving any trouble to the Retreat people. My car was towed away from a proper parking area. When we visited the office in the morning they told us that we did not updated in response to the email the leasing offices forwarded us. Without giving any warning about the car will be towed if not updated of information. For tenant living at the facility for past 3 years & without delay on rents etc this is the treatment you do with them? We are not going to renew our lease this time and this we have made our decision. Terrible customer service & to be honest the superior customer service is all about going the extra mile and a can do attitude. Retreat sucks!
