The Residences at La Colombe d'Or

I absolutely loved living here. If I ever move back to Houston, I would lease here again. Quiet building and quiet neighborhood. If you’re a runner, it’s a nice jog to the Rice U trail, Hermann Park or Buffalo Bayou Park. Concierge was wonderful- Marlin, Arnold, and John were helpful and friendly. The maintenance team is a well oiled machine and the adjacent hotel/bar grounds are a beautiful addition to the resident experience.

My experience at The Residences at La Colombe d'Or is not as a resident but as a guest at a private party that was held for my good friend who was celebrating his 80th birthday! My wife and I attended along with a hundred or so others, we had what is known as The Club House to ourselves. It is on the 10th floor with large rooms for entertaining as well as a patio and pool that overlook the city skyline. The staff we interacted with were great, from the valets at the garage entrance who parked and retrieved our vehicle to those we met inside who directed us to the elevator for the ride up to the 10th floor. It was a lively event as one can imagine but the staff were great at serving drinks as well as keeping up with empty glasses and plates. I am really not sure if these folks were actual staff or a hired catering group but they were great and made our visit so much better.

The apartment, a luxurious two-bedroom with three bathrooms, boasts incredible views that enhance the living experience. The top-tier restaurant, Tonight or Tomorrow, offers an exquisite dining experience that residents truly appreciate. From the outset, the service is impressive, featuring genuine valet parking—not merely a promised service, but an excellently executed one. Upon our first arrival, they had dog treats ready for our pets, underscoring their pet-friendly ethos. The dog park is exceptionally clean and well-maintained, with nearly all pets well-behaved, making it a paradise for dog owners. Additionally, during the initial tour, we were excited to learn about the possibility of having a fire pit with decorative marble rocks, adding a unique touch to our living experience. Arnold, the head concierge, consistently delivers exemplary service. All the concierges are friendly, professional, and consistently go out of their way to assist residents, whether it’s making reservations or locating a lost package. Their efforts significantly enhance the living experience here. The leasing office staff are exceptional, always on top of things, and they go out of their way to assist you with any needs or concerns. Their dedication and responsiveness truly stand out, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable living experience. The property boasts a very well-stocked gym, which recently added a Smith machine, much to the delight of fitness enthusiasts. The social aspect of living here is vibrant, with regular happy hours and events that foster a strong sense of community. Unlike some places that host events infrequently, La Colombe d’Or consistently provides engaging activities for residents. The security in the parking garage is outstanding, perhaps the safest I have observed, which adds to the sense of security throughout the property. The location is unbeatable, and the overall ambiance of the building is both quiet and inviting. For the monthly premium of over $6,000, La Colombe d’Or largely lives up to its promise of luxury. The amenities, pet accommodations, security, and social activities are considerable benefits, making it a highly desirable place to live.

I’ve been living at The Residences at La Colombe d’Or in Montrose for over three years, and I truly love it. The staff is professional, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the design is elegant yet warm. Everyone is kind and respectful — it genuinely feels like home.
