The Ranch at Silvercreek

Staff was wonderful and welcoming throughout the touring and application process before we were ruled out. Our leasing lady was fully willing to work with us to get the apartment we wanted, she even went out of her way to do us favors. The apartments were clean and well maintained when we toured them. Grounds are pretty. Doesn’t look the least bit like a low income housing complex. After living here for 6 months, there is a roach problem in the walls which they do not seem eager to fix. After speaking with other tenants, everyone is just kind of living with roaches here. Having pest control come and spray every so often to keep the roach population down, but they really need to bomb the buildings to get it to go away. Management seems to have changed recently, but I have not noticed any lax in service. Aside from that, overall good experience. If you can tolerate living with roaches. Living here for a year, they sprayed the whole building for roaches one day. The population declined, but they are still around and will probably grow to be a problem again because they need to fumigate the building. New management and office staff aren’t very helpful. Far more likely to say “tough.” than “I’ll double check there’s really nothing I can do to help…”. Often seem to be against you rather than working to please you as the resident. A disappointing decline as the old staff were the opposite. 2 years in, management finally took stand on roach problem and we see one rarely now. However, where new management and office staff does have the tendency to be standoffish the big reason we are lamenting is the new rent prices. Myself and neighbors around us have had rent increase by hundreds over the last 2 years. Several good neighbors on fixed income have moved out. This is section 8 housing, these prices are becoming unmanageable. Maintenance has stayed consistently willing to come and help, ultimately we will be staying until prices become too much for us to afford. Which isn’t too much longer.
