I have been living at the Parklane for over 30 years. It is more than just home. It is a community of loving, sharing, and beauty. Living across from Hermann Park with a beautiful view of the city and in the center of the Museum District and Medical Center gives access to a city within a city. The management, 24 hour concierge and valet service add to the luxury, convenience, and security of the building. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants luxury living at its finest to management that is superb. Ruthie Stevenson.

We moved into the Parklane 14+years ago and were seriously thinking about whether we were doing the right thing as there were many adjustments and advantages to consider! We have seen NUMEROUS improvements over the years. Once Ron Lake came on board as Building Manager, and choosing his staff wisely, has enhanced the building from mediocre to marvelous. Erik is the building’s engineer and he has been known to drive in on his Motor cycle from Kingwood to come fix a building problem and does so with a smile. Ruby has done a wonderful job of keeping up with day to day activities and her creativity for the different holidays along with prizes included! There is Irene who ‘hides’ in the back and we rarely see her but does a great job of making certain requests are being taken care of in a timely manner. We cannot leave out the Concierge team especially Jerry and Irene for the day and night shifts. The weekend shifts are typically with Marick and JJ who do a terrific job as well. There are numerous activities that have emerged from residents living in the building. We have a Meet and Greet every Tuesday from 5-6:00pm in the parlor (behind the Concierge desk!), our Circle of Care (in case you are ill or need help from walking a pet to driving to a doctors visit, Etc.) the Mahjong groups, raised gardens on the 3rd floor tended by the residents who ‘own’ the space and share their veggies or flowers, our building’s Book Club, the Musicale performances typically hosted in various units, other cultural offerings, and some by our own Hal Davis who has enlightened us on numerous Texas history programs. Not everything is perfect in a 40+ year old building. There are announcements regarding water shut-offs due to a pipe leak that can affect 1 unit to several floors. The elevators over the years have had many problems which causes problems for people who are trying to get to work and be on time. There are unused outdoor areas adjacent to the tennis/pickle ball courts that should have a purpose. The BBQ area on the 3rd floor definitely needs to have some sort of coverage. You never know when a storm might pop up out of no where and it starts raining and guests are coming. That can ruin a dinner party in a hurry. We are fortunate that the maintenance people that help to keep our building running understand these occurrences and work long hours to get everything back operational as quickly as possible. Our building is comprised of a community of amazing people that have MANY talents who share them with the rest of us and are willing to step up and step in to make the Parklane even better!

The Parklane is more than just a building or an apartment. It’s a full community of neighbors and staff that we are proud to call our home. It’s also home to our two dogs and two cats who might like living here more than us. I regularly tell my husband that this is the only place we will ever live where we can watch both the sunrise and the sunset from our home.

I have lived at the Parklane since 2012. Between 2020 and 2023 there was extensive renovation going on. The building is absolutely beautiful with spectacular views of Hermann Park, Rice University and downtown. It is so easy to walk to the zoo, and all of the museums in the museum district. The concierges and valets are friendly and helpful. And, the community of residents who engage with each other in social activities and who genuinely care about ea h other is truly the best part about living here. I would not want to live anywhere else in Houston.
