The Co-Op At The Med Center

Toured this apartment recently, it looked clean and nice & staff was fine. However deposits range from $1,000-2,000. The apartment I was viewing was around 750, so 3/4 the cost of the deposit. That practice feels a bit predatory, especially as most apartments the deposits range from 300-500. Just a warning to anyone thinking they are viewing an affordable apartment.

You don’t get your security deposit back!!! I initially had a good experience with The Coop Apartment. Before moving out, I even hired someone to professionally clean the apartment to make sure everything was perfect. Consuelo told me I would receive my security deposit within 4–6 weeks — it’s now been over 4 months, and I still haven’t received anything. I’ve emailed and called multiple times. I did get a reply saying that someone would reach out to me, but no one ever has. Since then, there’s been complete silence. The lack of follow-up and accountability is extremely frustrating and disappointing. Beware when it comes to your security deposit — communication stops once you move out, and getting your money back seems impossible. I really didn’t want to write a negative review, but after four months of waiting and no real response, I feel like I have no other choice.

While living at CoOp at the Med Center, my experience was great — the staff was kind, maintenance was responsive, and I had no major issues. However, everything changed after moving out on May 5, 2025. Despite leaving my apartment in excellent condition, I still have not received my full security deposit months later. I’ve emailed repeatedly with Leslie Mongue and Consuelo Hernandez, the property managers, who both promised that the remainder of my deposit would be sent. It’s now been well over 30 days, and I’m still waiting. Three weeks ago, they said a check would be mailed — nothing ever arrived. I’ve also reached out to Asset Living, the corporate office, and have numerous email exchanges to prove this ongoing issue. It’s extremely disappointing and unprofessional to withhold funds from tenants who respected and cared for the property. If you’re considering moving here, beware — getting your security deposit back seems to be an ongoing problem. I’m left with no choice but to leave honest reviews and consider small claims court if this isn’t resolved amicably. PLEASE BEWARE OF THE CRIMINAL ACTIVITY not only by ASSET LIVING....but they've also been on the news for drugs trafficking. PLEASE BE CAREFUL!
