I recently toured Stratford House Apartments and wanted to share my honest impressions. The layout of the units is genuinely appealing — having both front and back doors adds a nice sense of safety and convenience, and the private rear access is a thoughtful touch. The assigned parking spaces are another plus, since it removes the stress of competing for a spot. Inside, the rooms felt spacious, and the kitchens include a pantry, which is always a welcome feature. However, despite the positive aspects, I ultimately decided not to apply. During my visit, I noticed several dead cockroach carcasses inside the unit. Unfortunately, seeing even one is usually a sign that many more are hidden in the walls, floors, and other parts of the building. As someone who owns a lot of electronic equipment, this is a major concern. Cockroaches are drawn to the warmth and darkness inside devices like game consoles, stereos, and computers, and they can lay eggs inside them — something I’m not willing to risk. Overall, the apartments have a lot of potential, but the pest issue was a significant enough drawback that I chose not to move forward.

There is a lot of MOLD in the apartments. Management gets mad if a new work order is placed because they couldn’t keep it normal before leasing. I was given a drug addict apartment immediately after they evicted him, which I knew later. No amount of money can compensate health and I realized that I should have given preference to quality over money when it comes to where I live. They claim to “SOLVE THE PROBLEM” but all they do is nail a wooden piece on top of that mold The management is a bit shady. Because one of the staff members who did my application promised the referral bonus be credited and it never happened. Had hours long calls with staff members and back to square one There are so many roaches that you can’t stop fighting how hard you try. You keep your apartment clean as a glass and they come back. Only upside is it is a 100-200$ cheaper than some newer apartments around. Thought it would be worth it considering the referral bonus, but never got that. I am looking for a new apartment.

Very friendly staff in the office and the new apartment is exactly what I was looking for. They were able to get me moved in on short notice. Everything is great! Update: Amazing Staff, I've been living here now for 2 months and I have to say the staff working in the office have been so amazing and helpful. They have been super friendly and professional. I'd highly recommend living here for anyone looking for an apartment. 6 month update: Amazing staff, the staff in the office are very professional and have always greeted me warmly. I have found them very helpful and always assist me with any issues I might have. Strong Five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

⭐ 0/5 — Absolutely the Worst Living Experience in My Life I lived at Stratford Housing Apartments for the past few years, and leaving this place was an immense relief. If there were an option to give zero stars, this property would earn it without question. The apartments are extremely old and poorly maintained. The complex is overrun with stray cats, and cat and dog feces are scattered everywhere. On several occasions, when the sewer system backed up, human waste literally flowed onto the road in front of Building 14. The smell of marijuana often fills the parking areas, and the roach infestation is beyond belief — it feels like a natural breeding ground for cockroaches. Basic living conditions are miserable. The AC rarely works properly, and you play a daily game of “hide and seek” with hot water — it disappears halfway through a shower. Any maintenance request, even for essential items like a refrigerator, can take months to be resolved (mine took nearly five months). The management is unprofessional, rude, and often hostile. Instead of addressing genuine issues, they respond with arrogance and disrespect. When it comes to security deposits or billing records, transparency is nonexistent. They refuse to provide an itemized ledger for your lease period and will find every possible way to withhold your money. After seven long years here, I can confidently say: avoid Stratford Housing Apartments at all costs. The property is filthy, unsafe, and managed by people who have no regard for tenants’ dignity or basic living standards.

Im a contractor working at these Apartments at the moment. The outside of the apartments are moderate, but they are remodeling the inside of them and they are remarkable. The management staff is phenomenal, and very helpful. The manager is very nice and understanding. I had a very good experience working with this staff. I believe this would be a great place to live, but don’t just take my word for it. Look at the pictures and come stop bye.
