Star Voss Apartments

I've been living in this apartment for over 5 years and Its been a good experience. The apartment is comfortable, and located in a peaceful neighborhood. This apartment offers a spacious and open layout, perfect for walking around freely or enjoying outdoor activities. The management is very helpful whether it’s addressing any maintenance issues promptly. They communicate clearly and proactively, keeping residents informed about any updates or changes. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone searching for a long-term, worry-free living experience.

I have been a resident of Star Voss for 10 years and I am penning down this review so anyone who reads it has a better and overall understanding of what this community is, who is it for and how it has transformed over the past years: Been living here for 10 years and looking forward to staying for more. Pros: 1) Amenities: The community has ample parking space, a 3ft-9ft main swimming pool and 2 more smaller 3 ft. swimming pools, 3 tennis courts (previously 5), sand volleyball court, a community gym with good equipment, Party Hall (that can be rented), Convenient store. 2) Vicinity: Whole Foods, Kroger, Walmart, HEB, Costco, Sams club and lot of other retailers (Sports Academy, Michaels, Dollar Tree, Burlington etc.) and restaurants are within 3-5 miles radius. 3) Schools: Briargrove, Broadmeadows, Mark White, KIPP Sharp, TH Rogers, Tanglewood school are within 3-4 miles radius. 4) A big Amazon hub for your package delivery. The amazon hub makes your package delivery safe and smooth (as long as it's not full) Amenities and location are the highlight of this community. The location is also important from flood standpoint. This community survived Hurricane Harvey, Beryl, Nicholas with small/ minimal damage. No apartment was flooded. Power was lost but that's on the CenterPoint. Coming to the transformation, the latest owner/management has done consistent efforts to make the community look nice, fix amenities, gates, install lot of cameras for security and the community always has 1-2 security guards. This is important as the theft and damages compared to previous management/ownership has almost disappeared. Cons: 1) It's an old construction so you might find some roaches but if you and neighbor keep the passage clean then you can get rid of roaches. Management is continuously trying to work on keeping the community clean and pest free, but some residents just don't keep surrounding clean which causes pests to grow. The third party Pest control vendor is ridiculous. Their pest chemical is nothing but water I believe but if you report issues to management, they send guy with extra strong chemicals. 2) There are some air-conditioning issues as they have been old. Management tries to fix them. Some issues are small and quick fix while others are bigger and take long to fix. 3) Nothing else that comes to my mind. The recent upgrades in the community have been a welcome change, but it comes with an increase in the rent. The management also organizes community events (Halloween, Christmas etc.) every now and them. Last Christmas the management gifted winter jackets to every resident. All in all, if you are looking for a good location, look forward to living in community with good amenities, you can find your next apartment here. 4-star review from my end for now but I keep updating it based on good/bad things that happen in future.
