While I appreciate being a student here and a part of the ID program, and I like my teachers, my time here so far has been pretty stressful. I feel like the school board is dropping the ball a little here... Between financial aid with the bookstore canceling orders without full refunds 🙄 and just academics in regards to modules and courses being presented, there is definitely room for improvement. I think there is possibly some oversight happening when it comes to what is deemed acceptable coursework, and what modules are ready to actually be presented for class. ***Please put more thought in V.A.R.K. types when creating coursework (lectures seem to be lacking for online courses) Also, (and this is a big also) can we please vote to change the taxing district boundaries??!! How do we do this? Let's make this happen people!! I am in 77084, Houston city on my address, and I have to pay $140 per credit plus at least an extra $500 in fees per semester versus $80 per credit which includes fees for people inside the district (I'd say after fees it is $600 a class, and I will tell you right now that some of these classes were not worth $600 of information). I pay at least $500 to Lone Star in property taxes...😕 Why live in Harris county then?? Definitely making me second guess investing in real estate here. Lonestar no longer offers an ID program as of a decade ago?? 77083 is inside the district. My neighborhood looks to be around 2 miles from the boundaries. Classes can be difficult to manage with scheduling and multiple campuses, (seems like a lot of classes are held on the same days and times as other campuses) and the ID program needs to be completed FT. It makes it extremely difficult for people who work. * There is also a concerning crack in the flooring on multiple levels in the stairway of the Fine Arts building @ Central Campus. I hope a structural Engineer has inspected this recently!!

Came from Florida to Houston. Looking to restart my college journey. The people on campus were so helpful, not just staff but also the students. I’m still “shopping” schools but I was shocked by how caring the people at HCC were compared to UH. Highly recommend coming here if you want to be heard and seen.

The advisors here are very knowledgeable and attentive. Mine worked with me to get many classes transferred. Most textbooks included in the tuition you pay. Beautiful campus

Wouldn’t recommend, Couldn’t get a hold of anyone in the departments. They don’t know what they re talking about and will give you the run around. Couldn’t get a hold of my advisor, only by email. Ive been trying to get a hold of Dorthy Muhammad, The mathematics department, I’ve called several times, left voicemails, and even emailed her and still not getting a reply, it’s been 3 weeks, and I’m just trying to swap math classes and I’m having the hardest time to just do that. The School called her also and still no answer.

I hope everyone takes a moment to read this before choosing this school. I’ve had a terrible experience trying to get in contact with anyone. If you’re not currently enrolled in classes, you can’t access your accounts, which makes getting help nearly impossible. Requesting a transcript has been an absolute nightmare no one answers the phone, and when they do, they either hang up or send you to voicemail. The person in charge of transcripts (I believe her name is Angelica or Angelic wtv) never answers or returns calls. It’s been five months since I submitted my transcript request, and my university still hasn’t received it. Because of this delay, I haven’t been able to register for another school. This college clearly doesn’t care about its students, and the staff’s lack of care and communication is unacceptable.
