My partner and I have been living here for about a year, and this has genuinely been one of the best living experiences we’ve ever had. I was waiting to write my review until the end of my lease to provide an honest review to others. Living in Houston, safety is always a major concern—especially with how common car break-ins can be around the city. But here, I have always felt incredibly safe. Especially that the car garage is constantly monitored. The staff is extremely attentive, personable, and truly cares about the residents, which makes the sense of security even stronger. Security is always on top of everything, and I want to give a special shoutout to Martin. Every time we come home, he makes us feel welcome, seen, and taken care of, which has made such a difference in our experience. I remember one time I was walking on the street and a random man was standing there and he personally came outside very quickly to escort me inside. He was quick because he is constantly monitoring all cameras. Inside the apartment, the finishing touches are beautiful. The layouts feel spacious, modern, and comfortable. It’s also a very dog-friendly community, which we loved. Honestly, we’re really sad to be moving out—but the only reason we are leaving is because our dogs need a yard. If it wasn’t for that, we would absolutely be renewing our lease without hesitation. The upkeep of the property is excellent. I WFH and see the staff cleaning the common areas every single day. You can tell they take a lot of pride in keeping the community well-maintained. If you want to live in a safe part of Houston, close to all the popular areas, and have a beautiful apartment with thoughtful finishes this is the place. The only minor cons to consider is the indoor pool is not as heated as I would have liked, dog owners don’t always pick up after their pets (not management’s fault, just resident responsibility) and last very limited guest parking — it made it harder for family to visit :( Besides this, it’s a 10/10 for us!

I’ve lived here for about 13 months and have really enjoyed my experience. The new Manager, Leslie, is great—she’s accommodating, attentive, and genuinely cares about the residents. Melanie and Carla have been here since I moved in, and they’ve always been super kind and helpful. The concierge team, Jessie and Olive, are always super sweet and professional, and the night concierge/security, Martin, brings such positive energy—he always puts a smile on everyone’s face and is there when you need assistance. Maintenance requests are handled very quickly, which I really appreciate. Overall, I’ve had a great experience living here. The staff truly makes this community feel welcoming, and I couldn’t ask for better support in an apartment building.

Edit: We left. And now they are charging my sister 12k in rent for two months back rent? It can never be that sweet. Leslie instead of trying to force me or my family to take water or Gatorade. Your fake southern hospitality is so eh. Pray that this works out in a way where you do not get the shortest end of the stick. I can see from another review that you can actually respond to people’s emails. We shall see. I do not think anyone should move here. I emailed Carla about my sister’s and I’s situation. Rent is due eviction notice sent. Frustrating especially with the way it is affecting both of our psyches. I have not received a reply from either Carla or the CEO/president of Greystar? And I feel like it’s unacceptable. We want a beautiful, safe place to live and for almost a year this has been that place. My sister has never missed her rent till now. And it has a lot to do with her mental health. And if I had the money to pay her rent I would do it immediately. So it’s also frustrating for me in this instance. There are a lot of things about Elev8 that I like and I would’ve loved living here as a child. With their spacious high ceilings and comfy places to chill and have fun. There’s so many places to explore and it is basically in the heart of downtown so you can explore so much outside. And the community activities in my opinion are the best I’ve seen at an apartment complex. I am grateful for this place. And there are also frustrating things about this place. The fact that they said the pool is a heated pool. Took them months for it to finally be heated. The hallways are dirty with hair or paper. Even though I hear and see someone vacuuming when I look outside it’s like they’ve done nothing. There is only one window that opens in our unit so it feels like a hamster cage. I’ve seen doggy waste in the elevators and some of the employees are sassy. Especially the man that works nights Hispanic I believe. I saw another review his name is Martin. He makes things awkward and annoying for my siblings when they come to visit. Even though they have been here so many times. And he can be condescending and cold. I don’t know what his problem is. I don’t like it or him. The cabinets are covered in a cheap vinyl material that’s supposed to mimic wood and luxury. Yet it falls short. You can only go through the first and 2nd floor and that can be inconvenient if you want to take your groceries from your car or if you’re anxious, neurodivergent and like to avoid human being interaction sometimes that’s me. A condom on the top most garage floor. It’s literally decayed and yellowed. I gag every time I see it. The sinks are annoying because they are spray painted. So they chip easily and if you want them to look decent you’ll have to do it yourself or call maintenance. Which just feels silly. When the bathrooms should be able to withstand water. And maintenance acts like he doesn’t understand how to do maintenance work. Likeee I know you’ve worked at other places you know how to do your job. Guest parking is horrible. You only get a spot if fortune has shined on you. 😔There’s barely any spaces and it sucks. We want our family and friends to be able to have free parking. And not worry about their cars getting ticketed. I remember one resident told me they could tell that Elv8(Greystar) cut corners in some of the ways they renovated this building. I wholeheartedly agree. I feel like this place has a profit over humans mentality. And that is sad considering the humans that live here bring the profits. I wish million/billion dollar companies like this would make apartment complexes with love not how much money can we save and eat. This has been a trying time. I know that everything will work out well and perfectly. Even though I am extremely anxious. I wish the management had more sensitivity and care. And just making sure we are all happy. That is what I want. Carla basically advised my sister to move out. Where will we go? We have a lot of things that would make navigating and traveling with them would be difficult.

Warning: Do Not Lease Here. Elev8 Is Dangerous, Misleading, and Mismanaged. This is not a luxury property. It’s a liability wrapped in false advertising. Let me be clear: – The “heated indoor pool”? It’s freezing cold and has never worked. – The “direct tunnel access”? Doesn’t exist. The skywalk is permanently closed. These were two of the main reasons we signed. Management knew this. They said nothing. That’s fraud by omission. Security? Laughable. – Residents have been trapped in elevators, requiring fire department rescue. – Garage and entry doors don’t lock. Anyone can walk in. – Badge system fails constantly. – A unit was broken into on July 4th. Zero follow-up. You are not safe here. Period. Health and hygiene? Just as bad. – Marijuana odor floods the hallways. Repeated complaints = silence. – Trash and broken bottles sit for days in stairwells. Nothing gets cleaned. – The building is filthy and neglected. “Luxury” is a joke. And if that’s not enough, Greystar (property management) has refused to pay our realtor their locator fee, putting us at legal and financial risk. Their own leasing office caused it. They’ve ignored months of follow-up from us and our licensed agent. If you’re considering moving here: don’t. You’ll regret it. If you’re a current resident: document everything. They will gaslight you. If you’re Greystar corporate: you are now on notice. This is documented, timestamped, and escalated. This property is unsafe, unethical, and unfit for tenants. Run

2 week update: I’m happy subscriptions were renewed. When I went to go check in the gym it seems only one Peloton was working while the rest are not plugged in. The echelon seems to be broken. Which explains why it’s been unplugged the past couple months. There’s still no boxing bag or working pool. Original: I usually prefer to leave positive reviews, but I wanted to share my honest experience for future tenants to consider when deciding if this is the right place to call home. I’ve lived here for 6 months, and overall I’ve been a bit disappointed. A big reason my boyfriend and I chose this community was because of the amenities. Unfortunately, many of them have not met expectations: Pool: The indoor heated pool has been out of order since the day we moved in. Most days it’s too cold to use, and when I first asked about it, I was told the water temperature “depends on the outdoor air temperature,” which didn’t make sense. For a one-bedroom unit costing over $2k, I expected working amenities. After 6 months, the issue still isn’t resolved, yet I’ve noticed it’s still being advertised as a heated pool—which feels misleading. Gym: I’ve never seen the Echelon or Peloton equipment available via login, and the yoga/spin classes that were mentioned when we moved in have never been advertised. The boxing bag was also removed recently due to damage. Alexa system: Each unit has a built-in Alexa, which sounded great at first, but I’ve received multiple complaints when using it because of the bass. Even at 80% volume, it’s hard to hear over cooking, so I’ve resorted to headphones instead. Noise complaints: I’ve never had noise complaints in previous places, but here I’ve received several. The most recent one was frustrating—I was simply cooking and cleaning around 10 pm and got a complaint, possibly because of a cabinet closing too hard (even though they’re advertised as “soft-close”). This makes me feel stressed in my own home, as if I can’t do normal daily tasks without being reported. That said, there are positives: The staff is truly amazing—always welcoming and friendly. Maintenance requests are handled quickly. The community areas are consistently clean and well-maintained. I haven’t had any issues with pests or mold in my unit. They also host frequent community events and food trucks, which is a nice touch. I hope management addresses these issues soon—especially the pool, which was a major factor in my decision to move here. If things improve, I’ll be happy to update this review.
