My move in experience this weekend has been so great with Valerie & Autumn! They happily answered all my questions and made sure I knew exactly what to do at each step! Living here so far has been such a great time, they’re doing so many activities & make it easy to get involved in your community!

I'm on my second year here and I couldn't be happier with my choice. Layouts are great. Staff is always friendly and super helpful. Any maintenance requests get handled quickly and with great detail. Amenities are nice and the building is always kept in great shape. Would highly recommend

Our upstairs neighbor is constantly stomping around all day and night (at 3 PM, 10 PM, 2:30 AM, 6:30 AM), and often plays loud music with the bass turned up. This has been going on for 7 months, with him causing our ceiling and walls to shake and rattle, and management has dismissed the noise as normal — even though this has never been our experience in the 6+ apartments we've lived in, or even in this unit prior to this neighbor moving in. Management did offer to let us move to a different unit, but this would have been at the expense of our time and money. The building's courtesy officer is rarely on site and only provides a false sense of security. There have been at least two parking garage or adjacent street car break-ins this year alone, and they have not increased the level of security to prevent this from happening again. So it will happen again, just as it has every year we've lived here. People have been leaving en masse, as evidenced by the 30+ vacant units, which is the highest I've seen in our 2 years here. We can't wait to move out next month and finally be able to sleep again. I will miss the maintenance team, who has always been very helpful and transparent.

I've lived at Montage for 3 years now, and just renewed my lease. I love the location - I can walk to downtown in 10-15 minutes, walk to Magnolia Ave. in about 20, and there are many places to hang out in between. The neighborhood (Near Southside) is a great community with music and art events periodically, a wide variety of restaurants and nightlife, and much more in development. Living at the Montage has been a great experience - neighbors have all been friendly, and while they did change management last year, the new staff is helpful and responsive (as was the previous). They've also started doing fun community events for residents - last night Valerie (from the management team) put together and hosted a fun (& free!) "Paint & Sip" event, there will be a free yoga class this weekend, they do scavenger hunts for prizes, gift bags for Halloween, and more. The maintenance staff has been fantastic, addressing the few issues I've had usually the same day. The office even had pest control come out here to kill a yellow jacket nest that had formed in the vent next to my balcony. There are cons for apartment living, especially in a downtown area. Yes, unhoused people are around; I see a few from my window walking from one place to the next most days, but they don't loiter around our building and I've never felt threatened. I see more loitering around downtown and closer to Magnolia. The parking garage is great to have and yes, there have been a few incidents of the gate not working, and they're currently under repair, but in 3 years I estimate about 10-15 days total have had issues with it. Ideally it would never break, but friends in other buildings have trouble with theirs on occasion as well so I don't think that's just here. The security system was updated this year so we use an app to open doors; I've liked that for having deliveries so I don't have to go down to open the door for them, nor risk anything by giving them an entry code. If something were to happen to my phone, I have a code that can get me in the main door. Noise level - overall the building is quiet. In both units I've rented here I've been able to hear the upstairs neighbors, but it's been minimal and not constant at all, only when dogs are playing or someone drops something. I looked at 5-10 apartments in the area when I decided to move, and am very happy with my choice to live here.

I’ve lived here for nearly two years, and while there are some positives, changes in management have made the overall experience a bit disappointing. The maintenance team is truly great. They respond quickly, are professional, and do quality work. However, the grounds could be better kept. Cleanliness doesn’t seem to be a priority lately, and it's noticeable especially as I’ve started experiencing pests issues, which I never dealt with in the past. I also understand that rent prices have gone up, but it would be easier to accept if the overall experience matched the cost. I hope the management takes steps to improve the community — both in maintenance of the property and in addressing tenant concerns.
