The Villas at Cimarron

This place really is lovely. The office staff are super friendly and kind, always plenty of parking, nice and quite setting, top notch gym with topnotch equipment, a nice patio space by the pool with a working gas fireplace, and spacious apartments. Plus free internet that really is free!! My only complaint is this place isn't in my new city! ...also I wanted to add, I have never seen dog poo around at all, ever and I walk every night. They make cleanliness a priority.

I highly recommend this to place to live if you are looking for a great place with great management. Mary and her side kick Katina are great managers of this property and made my experience much appreciated. They made moving in fun, and moving out with the same feeling. I lived here approximately 2 years. Great location & walkable. Great view of the Franklins. However calling these luxury apartments is false advertising. I’m not sure what is making them luxury other than it was only one of two places that had in unit laundry in El Paso in 2023.. Upon moving in, the carpets were filthy. I bought my own carpet cleaner from Walmart & had to clean the carpet. There was a TON of black animal hair embedded in the carpet. took me multiple cleanings to attempt to get it all out. This should have done prior to moving in & not my responsibility to clean. During the course of living here, maintenance requests were ignored and often not fulfilled. The maintenance guys seem to be lazy and don’t want to troubleshoot the issues. Multiple issues with the dishwasher leaking all over the floor due to poor seal and washing machine not draining. I would put a work order, eventually someone would come, said it was turning on (not the issue!) and close the request. I’d put in another work order and NEVER heard a response. I got a garage during my time here & never got the proper key. My husband talked to the office multiple times about the maintenance request to get the key and always was assured it had been fixed and our key would work and for over a year never ever got the correct garage key. My other complaint is living on the ground floor and I can CONSTANTLY hear the above neighbors STOMPING around. I use the word stomping because it literally shakes the light and ceiling fan fixtures as the upstairs neighbors walk around. It is enough to drive a person insane. The poor insulation and ability to hear your neighbors is the exact opposite of a definition of “luxury apartment.” Neighbors dogs are always barking and pooping everywhere - while the office emails threats that pet owners will be fined, the issue is never remedied. Also, calling this a “gated community” is a bit of a stretch considering the drive in gates are broken more or less half the time. Plus, even perhaps a bigger issue is that the walk-in gate by the apartment (between buildings 3 and 4) never locked thus not requiring a key entry code to enter. The entire 2 years living in this community, the walk-in gate never locked or required a code to enter. So if security and peace of mind is something you’re seeking - I would say the appearance of security exists without the actual security. Anyone can just walk in the walk-in gates and statistically speaking could probably easily drive in with the frequency of how often the drive-in gates were broken. Also small pet peeve, but online resident portal is super archaic. I have it set to paperless billing & somehow I get not one but two bills every month mailed to me which is utterly ridiculous. I’ve tried to update it multiple times on my end and continue to get my rent statement mailed to me every month, and for some reason two every month!!, despite having paperless billing requested. For paying over $2k a month in rent, I think all the issues with maintenance, the cost is completely unreasonable and borderline unethical. If you weren’t paying such a high cost, then some of these issues would be a little more understandable. You do not get what you pay for if you decide to live here. Definitely not worth the price. Do not recommend for the price.
