Very misleading experience. I was told by one employee there was no carpet in an apartment at all, I even asked twice just to make sure. only to later find out from a different employee that every unit actually has carpet in the bedrooms. The photos the employee showed were also misleading. The biggest issue: the unit we were considering was available to move in, yet they refused to show it. Instead, they only show a model apartment, which happens to be one of the largest and nicest floor plans. When I asked why the same floor plans have different prices, they explained it depends on when cabinets and appliances were updated. So naturally I asked to see the actual unit i would be renting, and they still refused. If finishes and updates vary, how does it make sense to only show a model unit and expect people to commit without seeing what they’re actually getting? I am a realistic person. I wasn’t expecting a perfect apartment and i understand budget limitations. But after catching several inconsistencies and feeling like i was being misled, i decided not to move forward. Don’t waste your time here, they just make a fool of you.

Do yourself a favor and not rent here. The problem is not that is an old complex, it is the management that doesn't do anything to fix the problems. Their favorite answer is "We cannot do anything to help you" and "If you don't like it, just move". Have been reporting to fix the ceiling since September 2025, due to the neverending leaks that the complex has and it hasn't been fix up to this day. If you decide to rent here, be ready to go everyday for a month to the front office and being treated like crap, just in order for them to fix any issues in your apartment. They will mark everything as completed in their portal, even though they haven't done anything. The list goes on and on. The only good thing is the location, but that's it. Pool will be always under maintenance during the summer season and you will be charged at least 200 dlls more than what it is in their lease agreement, plus add electricity and Internet. For what they charge, you can get an even better apartment at Onix or Montecillo. Dont fall for the 5 stars reviews that people leave, and save yourself a year of awful experience.

I want to genuinely express my experience applying at The Retreat at Mesa Hills. I’m relocating from Houston, so I applied while not physically being in the city, and I truly appreciate how smooth the process has been. From the very beginning, the leasing team was extremely communicative. After submitting my application, I called to explain my situation and provided all the necessary information, and they were clear, helpful, and responsive throughout the entire process. The website clearly outlines the fees, required documentation, and step-by-step instructions on how to complete everything. I’ve seen some reviews mentioning miscommunication during the application process, but I truly believe it’s important for us as applicants to carefully read all the information provided before moving forward. The team is working hard behind the scenes to prepare our future homes, and that deserves recognition. Big shoutout to The Retreat for supporting their residents and making this transition such a positive experience!

I wouldn’t recommend this property. We dealt with ongoing water leaks in our apartment that were never fully fixed. We reported a leaking roof in July (twice), were told it was repaired, but the leak came back and was reported again in October. We also reported a leaking window in September and followed up again in October after being asked to resubmit the request. None of these issues were properly resolved. All of our repair requests were submitted through the tenant portal, which is the system management tells residents to use. Even after multiple written requests over several months, the problems continued and made the apartment uncomfortable to live in. While living there, we also spoke with other residents who shared similar frustrations about maintenance issues not being addressed, so it didn’t feel like an isolated problem. When we eventually moved out (10/30/25) because the issues weren’t being fixed, management tried to charge us an early termination fee (and sent to collections still to this day 2/9/26) instead of taking responsibility for the unresolved repairs. Overall, it felt like concerns were brushed off and more energy went into policies and technicalities than actually fixing serious problems. Everyone deserves a safe, well-maintained place to live, and unfortunately that wasn’t our experience here. Do not rent here!!!!
