I have been a tenant here at Shoreview going on my third or fourth lease but wanted to finally highlight some positive things that I have seen on the complex. Since moving in here, there have been a ton of staffing changes in the office and with maintenance. I know a lot of people come on here to complain but over the last year we have seen some positivity finally! I believe the manager's name is Jessica. Since living here, she has been the only manager that has stuck and been here the longest. Javier and David I believe is the head of maintenance and he is nice too. The property is so much cleaner, the response time is same day mostly instead of calling and calling the office or coming by when nobody answers the phone to find nobody in the office and they have more activities for the residents on a more normal basis. I work hybrid so I see a lot more than people who aren't here during the day, and to see the manager and the guys walking around and her helping the guys during the recent storm is refreshing because that used to never happen. Everybody here seems to be more focused on the tenants than before so I wanted to come on here and give them their flowers since I have seen mostly negative reviews. Is the complex perfect, no but show me one that is and compared to where we started, its ten times better than where we were before. So thank you to the Shoreview team for getting things back on track. I can't imagine it was easy but very much appreciated.

I find these reviews funny because they’re always a mix of folks who just moved in, folks who’ve never lived in apartments before, and folks who just lack public etiquette. Apartment complexes are melting pots of all three — kind of like grocery stores. Think Dollar General versus Central Market: you get what you pay for, ladies and gentlemen. I’ve lived here for three years. Some of the comments about fees and maintenance are true. We’ve gone through three different managers, and guess what? This one’s the best. (PS, I’ve seen the manager once she doesn’t know me, and we’ve interacted with awkward hello lol) She’s given the maintenance and cleaning teams the tools they need to actually do their jobs — and she tackled the biggest project of all: repainting the entire facade of the complex. Was communication rough? Absolutely. But it’s done. Kudos for that. Can things be better? Always. But we also need more residents to fill these apartments, so the little things that annoy us renters can actually get addressed — like better security at the pool, which the whole neighborhood loves to crash. That front black gate has been a joke since I moved in; it’s often propped open on weekends. Either make it fob-only access or just get rid of it. And while you’re at it, scrub the pool — she looked crusty this summer. Add that to the dock it of 2026, I’m sure it’s in the budget! Parking and garages: same as anywhere else in Dallas. We all think we’re outstanding citizens, but some of us park our pickups like Helen Keller in the inconvenient places, while others peel in with lifted Jeeps like maniacs and unload 6 kids out of one jeep… impressive… lol… A handful of us just quietly respect each other. Have cars been scratched? Sure. Probably mine once or twice. Again, you get what you pay for. Trash- has been picked up for me every time. I read the rules on the paper that were given to me on day one. Bag it, don’t let it leak, breakdown your boxes. Oh yeah and don’t forget make sure it’s out after 5PM! If you work odd hours well you’re SOL. Also thank you to the manager for power washing the trash room, and adding the diffuser to it so it doesn’t smell like garbage in the hallway anymore! 2022 was a smelly year. Security has actually improved — taking away pool (billiards) privileges helped cut down on random kids hanging out downstairs. We don’t have computers or printers anymore, and honestly, that’s for the best. Gym: sad but functional. Other Greystar properties do it better. The layout isn’t great, and the equipment’s limited, but technically you can still work out every muscle group, so I digress. Can you hear your upstairs neighbors? Yep. Just like at every other apartment complex in America. You get what you pay for. Does it smell like weed sometimes? Sure does. But it’s 2025 — get over it. Long story short: this building has improved a lot since I first moved in. Some inconsiderate neighbors have moved out, and more respectful ones have moved in. It’ll never be perfect, because life isn’t perfect. If apartment buildings were grocery stores, this one would fall somewhere between Kroger and Target — maybe a few Sprouts or Trader Joe’s folks sprinkled in. And honestly, those are the quiet ones who just want to no trouble. No one is perfect folks. You chose to live in an apartment complex with hundreds of people. Don’t like it buy a house! I know they’re expensive as heck! Right! So I live here too. Get over it. Bravo to the new manager — you’re doing a tremendous job. And if you made it this far… thanks for reading! 😂

The trash service here is garbage I double bagged a leaky bag then proceeded to put 2 more bags out yesterday and watched the man put a sticker saying we dont take leaking bags so I carried it all the way down to the garbage without leaking on the floor huh. Sounds lazy to me. We pay for you to take our garbage and they hire lazy people I dont understand. Been here 3 months and 3 motorcycl les have been stolen and one damaged 2 bikes never recovered. They aren't in the office u til 10 am which is way too late to conduct any business in the am. The apartments are decent but overpriced for the area given all the trash that stays outside the apartment homeless people and or just bad energy if you live here you understand. Poorly located and poor staffing with extra poor hiring maintenence is decent though. But communication and or security is shitty.

I've been living here for about 2 months and I'm already ready to move. My main point, if you don't feel like reading my book 😅, is that if you value not hearing your upstairs neighbors constantly then don't move here or get a spot on the top floor. I wish someone had told me that before I moved here cause I would not have or I would've picked a room at the top. We're stuck here for the next 12 months now🙃 I'm not sure if the residents above us know but they literally stomp around at all hours of the day and night. I'm not sure why they made the walls really soundproof but not the floors/ceiling. We can basically hear every movement, from walking (literally it sounds like stomping, the floor creaks and I swear it shakes the walls in our apartment), dropping things, closing doors, pushing stools, ect. We can pinpoint where our neighbor is and where they're walking. We think they might've had problems with the previous tenant in our apartment because the way they walk around sounds like they're mad and want us to know about it. I know that's likely not the case but it's still extremely irritating. We wake up when they wake up and we don't sleep unless they're sleeping. It sucks! And because there's basically nothing we can do we just have to wait until our lease is up. We walk around extra quiet to be polite to our downstairs neighbors. I also agree with another person's review about the parking garage being really tight around the corners and people are going way too fast. Only one car at a time can fit around the corners so people really need to slow down before they cause a wreck. Maybe there should be an official speed limit for the parking garage or something cause it's ridiculous. After reading the other residents review now I have to worry about people scratching/dinging my car and the possibility of things being stolen. Just lovely🙃 Also, not gonna lie, the hallways almost always smell like pee/fecal matter and garbage. I think the garbage is because people will leave their trash in the hallway for pick up long before they're supposed. So if you have a strong sense of smell, I'd look for another apartment building. The only things I like about this apartment are the amenities we didn't have at our old place like washer & dryer in unit, ice maker and a shower faucet that responds quickly. Things you can easily find at other apartment buildings. This place is nothing special, sorry not sorry🤷♀️

Great place! Friendly staff, clean, quiet, and great location. Close to schools, coffee shops, automotive repair, freeway, grocery store, and church. The location is near a lot of cool spots. The price is reasonable for being a newer complex. Plus you are very close to some cool breweries. Thanks, Shoreview Flats staff it's been great a experience living here.
