Maddox Apartments

I want to share my genuine experience living at The Maddox Apartments over the past year and a half to help others make an informed decision. On 2/2/26, water for the entire building was shut off for OVER 7 hours without explanation, leaving residents without access to showers, drinking water, or basic hygiene facilities. There was never any communication from management regarding this issue. Additionally, on 1/13/26, SEVERAL cars were broken into in the resident garage, with windows smashed and cars clearly rummaged through. Since moving in a year and a half ago, I have observed several ongoing issues: • Car break-ins occurring almost DAILY, both inside and outside the resident gate, with no response from management. • Fire alarms going off multiple times daily, (Including during working hours AND the middle of the night) causing extreme work/sleep disruption and concern. • Parking garage gate broken for multiple weeks, combined with the frequent presence of homeless and very scary looking individuals inside BOTH the garage and hallways. • Elevators frequently out of service. • Trash and unsanitary conditions in hallways DAILY, including waste that is not promptly addressed. Despite residents raising concerns over the past year, these issues remain largely unresolved as of February 2026. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend that potential residents thoroughly research this property and consider other housing options before signing a lease here.

DON’T RENT FROM THE MADDOX. RUN, DON’T WALK AWAY. Seriously, rent anywhere else. Absolutely Dishonest team at office. PLUS Broken elevators for weeks. Trash rooms filled to capacity for weeks. Trash pilled in hallways for weeks. Stench of garbage in hallways. Rat & cockroach infestation.

I’ve lived at the Maddox since 2021. It’s gone through new management and staffing changes. The current staff has been great and proactive. The maintenance staff is quick and detailed and the management is proactive as they can be with a large community, in the city. There are always issues with community and city living - those tend to be outside of the managements hands. Every time I have needed something they have been able to deliver.

2 stars for the location's convenience (right by Kroger's and LA Fitness) and Draper/Mareena in the office; however, it was not the best living experience (zero stars): outdated amenities, pests all over the building, questionable staffing decisions, foul smells that seep through the air vents into your unit, DAILY car break-ins, and homeless roaming through the hallways. I appreciated being in a central location, but the joyI fellt when my lease ended was unmatched.

I've lived at NUVO Park Place for over 2 years, and I love it! Marilyn & Victoria are super responsive, always ready to answer any questions I have and ensure any maintenance requests are serviced ASAP. They are the best, and I appreciate everything they do to make NUVO a safe and comfortable home for my family. Recently, I told Marilyn my heat was acting a funny, and before I left the office she'd already submitted the maintenance request. They're amazing!! Thanks, Marilyn and Victoria!!
