Garage gate is ALWAYS broken!!! Cars get broken into. I called to report the car break and the person the other line couldn’t care less. Make sure that you ask about the elevators (always broken), garage gate(always broken. Hallways are so dirty and reeks of dog pee and dog 💩. They’ll turn off the water randomly at 7am-9am, with a 30min notice and then it’s too bad you needed a shower before work. They’ll overcharge you and instead of refunding the over charge, they credit you for the following month. The fee to end your lease early is 2 months worth. Please reconsider as you’re looking for your new place. I think the new property manager is trying their best but it’s simply not enough. Maintenance team is great and prompt.

Worst experience of my life. Shutting off water on a WORKING day (Tuesday 9am) to “improve certain items around the community” is not only unprofessional and inconvenient but it’s not what “luxury apartments” are. And can you imagine.. with little to no warning - (received an email at literally 7:50am this morning). No excuses- I’m not a Texas native, AND THANK GOD IM NOT- because truly- these people have such LOW standards. Where can I begin? This is simply just the tip of the ice berg. 1. Nobody here cleans up after their pets. 🤢🤮 You have to be careful where you step. It’s not only disgusting to look at but it poses a HEALTH HAZARD. This isn’t just this community, it’s just the “Texas” way. I think most people are lazy, and hold no pride in their life. 2. The community’s page posts various non existent “bars” such as a fruit and juice bar, cereal bar and coffee bar that simply are a scam. Where can I get a green juice? Like what? Just another “Texas luring technique” to get you in. It’s illegal and I think I’ll report it. I added photos of those “amenities” like this is just comical. Now, there WAS a keurig coffee machine in the lobby- but last time I checked, it’s GONE. Vanished out of thin air, with no explanation- like okay… how humiliating for this complex. 3. I asked for a key fob in mid November- the reception told me it would take about 2 weeks. Now fast forward to late January- i didn’t have it yet and felt like she didn’t care to even update me on its whereabouts. Instead of feeling valued and appreciated that I live here- I felt like they dismissed my request. Unimportant- unappreciated. It took my husband and my father together to go downstairs and get a fob for me. I don’t go begging for fobs… my standards are much higher than this. If I feel unwanted, it’s probably because it’s true. Always listen to your intuition. 4. We’ve had issues with our refrigerator since November. 3 times the maintenance man came to assess the issue- would try to fix it himself- and to this day, the water/ice portion is still not working. It’s like a sign to LEAVE and don’t come back. We’ve asked for a brand new refrigerator and to only come when my husband is present to install it- nope. Not one update on that. Just another truthless prophecy that only Texas can come up with. 5. In the middle of the night when everyone is supposed to get peaceful rest, we hear dogs barking- nobody here gets vetted on their dogs- you can bring in the most aggressive barker and they would take it- because for them it’s all about the money. God forbid it’s a pit bull tho, they won’t take that… but a barking mutt- as long as the are paying pet rent- please do come! To conclude- they just want your money. People have low standards and so does this community. Texas is a wasteland.

I lived here for a year so let me save your time : All 4 of my car tires were stolen, black mold everywhere (I was sick the entire time I lived here), my CAT was sick the entire time I lived here, management does not respond to phone calls or emails, broken gates, zero security surveillance (the cameras are fake otherwise I’d have access to the footage of my tires being stolen where a camera was directly above my car), apartment entry doors frequently left wide open for anyone to walk in, broken elevators, extraordinarily loud vents randomly installed for ‘air flow’, extraordinarily high electricity bill due to old appliances, zero sound proofing between you and the upstairs neighbor. The only pro - maintenance is great. You’re welcome.

I applied at Haven Lake Highlands after being told by the leasing staff that my intended use of the apartment was allowed. After I submitted my application and paid the fee, my application was denied for the exact reason I was told was acceptable. I was also never given any written rental criteria before paying the fee, which is required under Texas Property Code. When I asked for my refund, the staff refused, were rude on the phone, and still have not provided a valid explanation or documentation. Because of the misrepresentation and refusal to refund, I have filed complaints with the Texas Attorney General, TDHCA, BBB, and other regulatory bodies. I’m sharing this so others understand my experience before applying here. I saw that the business responded, which is hilarious because they still have not responded to my emails requesting the information that they just said that they provided in the response below. I will keep everybody posted with the result of the attorney general findings and the fair housing findings. Please reach out to me if you felt that they have improperly withheld money that is owed to you because I am planning on reviewing their practices at other facilities as well New update as 12-17-25 - they told the BBB "I signed an agreement that said I was not entitled to get the money back" - they never informed the BBB what the rejection was for, they just said we are allowed to not refund the $270. With all the mold issues, and their horrible business practices- beware! I will continue to report the facts on this so any consumer can beware. I would HIGHLY recommend staying away, obviously I'm biased, but their business practices, in my case, were shady. Best of luck to you.

MOLD. MOLD. MOLD. AND MORE MOLD. It’s everywhere — 3rd floor, 2nd floor, 4th floor, 1st floor lobby — everywhere. My boyfriend, 20 years old with no prior health issues, lived here for about 7 months and out of nowhere had two grand mal seizures. The only thing that could possibly relate is the fact that we were living in an apartment with “the bad kind” of mold (direct words from the mold remediators). The only reason we even started investigating further — besides noticing black vents — was that neighbors had been dealing with severe mold issues, so we started piecing things together. When we told maintenance about the vents, they said they would just get a new filter, which of course never happened. By the time remediation began, our entire apartment was torn apart under tarps, and we were not able to grab any of our things, nor were we compensated for a week of housing. There was no communication about whether our belongings were contaminated or even what type of mold was present. Workers were in hazmat suits, so clearly it was serious. I managed to catch one worker who was on the phone with management and asked if it was black mold. He said Stachybotrys is usually found outside, mostly on old buildings, and then he thought it might have been Aspergillus — just an opinion, not a fact. We would have done our own test if they hadn’t remediated the entire place on their own schedule, completely flipping our lives upside down. We were not the first to experience this, and we certainly won’t be the last. Other ongoing issues include: • Car break-ins, with management dismissing complaints because the lobby had been flooded by a homeless woman who broke in — a problem made possible by broken gates. • Malfunctioning elevators — one dropped from the 3rd floor to the 2nd while I was inside, causing me to fall. • Poor management response to multiple safety issues. The new property managers are very nice, but they’ve been handed a plate of problems they cannot fix. This building should be condemned before more people have to suffer.
