I'm writing this review with a heavy heart and deep disappointment. As someone who was granted free tuition due to significant financial hardship, I was incredibly grateful for the opportunity to attend this institution. I believed it was a place that truly cared about its students and mission. However, I feel completely backstabbed. After enrolling, I was informed about a "Spiritual Formation" fee of $100 that was never mentioned during the application or enrollment process. This feels like a bait-and-switch. When a student is offered "free tuition" because of financial need, the expectation is that they won't be surprised by hidden fees. This unexpected charge, for a course that seems to be a core part of the institution's identity, completely undermines the promise of free education. It's disheartening to feel that this seminary, which purports to be guided by spiritual principles, cares more about extracting money than supporting students in genuine need. The lack of transparency around this fee is a serious issue. Prospective students should be aware that "free tuition" may not be truly free and that the institution seems to prioritize financial extraction over student trust and well-being. 2025/9/12

The faculty and culture of Dallas Theological Seminary positively impacted my development as a young man and Christian minister in Central Appalachia. While DTS is known popularly for Dispensationalism, I found the true hallmark and distinctive of the school to be a wonder for the grace of God and a treasuring of the words of God. Grateful!

Having been a student at DTS, and now an alum, I loved my experience at DTS. Understanding of Scripture, fellowship with colleagues and professors, and lifelong friendships are all experiences I have taken out of my program. Additionally, being a former employee of the Admissions Department, I can say with confidence that the heart of the director and team is to teach truth and love well. Now in a doctoratal program pursuing next steps in the counseling profession, I feel equipped and supported by my former professors at DTS. Proud of myself for finishing the Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling and for chasing my dreams. DTS was a great experience :)

Hospitality is everything. I let the admissions team know I was planning to stop in to see campus since I had to be in town for some meetings. Yet there was nobody available to answer ANY of my questions on the graduate program I'm interested in. Not even basic ones. No brochures were available on the graduate program I was interested in either (I was told those were being reprinted). While the receptionist in admissions was very friendly, she couldn’t point me in the direction to speak to anyone. I found it really hard to believe there were faculty, no staff, nobody there to answer my questions. I also had my heart set on visiting the bookstore to pick up a commentary set that I was excited for. Even though the sign on the door said they were open I was asked to leave because they were moving today. Despite the commentary set being right there near the entrance, and even though they have an online store, they would not let me purchase it online and have someone walk out of the store two feet to hand it to me. I was left really disappointed. I had been looking forward to this visit for WEEKS. The whole experience reminded me of how critical hospitality is for ministry. Whether your guest is coming from across the street or 800 miles away, have someone available to answer questions and help them feel welcome, as if Jesus loves them. Because he does. I came from across the United States and set aside my morning for this visit. I can't tell you how excited I was for this morning. Perhaps for the admissions team, it was no big deal. But it was to me. I left feeling incredibly defeated and heartbroken.

Great school to study in depth all 66 books of the Bible as well as church history, theology, original biblical languages, counseling and Christian education. Tuition is not the cheapest but plenty of scholarships are available. The student body is very diverse which enriches your training experience. The seminary has a large library, student housing, cafe and food pantry. Guest parking is available. All campus is wheelchair accessible.
