UPDATE: They are no longer Eastgate, they have now taken over University Square, the building right away. Apparently, Natalie no longer works here, so what I say below may no longer be true, because every administration is different. I'm just saying this for anyone thinking of moving here to know. **** This is my second year living here, third year in the city. This is the first time I am leaving a review. Basically I do it because I think it is appropriate to say that our current Community Manager, Natalie Farrel, has been doing an excellent job that is well worth mentioning. As someone who lives here, I recommend this place, especially for people who live alone or maximum with their partner; for a person who lives alone or a couple, it's perfect. Basically, if you enjoy solitude and silence, it will be fine, as it is almost always quiet, even on weekends. It is very close to the University, you can even walk there if you don't mind walking 20 minutes. The university bus stops right next to it, on Lincoln Avenue, and there are also many restaurants nearby. I hope they keep the same management, because it has been excellent. The only reason I don't give five stars is because before Natalie the management was not so good, and it's fair to say that not everything has been perfect.

For the cheap price, I can't complain. The place does its job and I'm satisfied enough. I see a lot of complaints about the maintenance and while there is a large gap between what the office says they'll do and what ends up getting done, the maintenance itself has been top-notch. Charles comes to fix a problem as soon as I submit the service request. Parking is easy, location is convenient. Overall I agree with another review on here that said if you're not spoiled with luxury, you'll be fine here for a while.

I lived at Eastgate Apartments for about a year and found it to be a quiet little place that served its purpose well for the price. It's close to campus, has a bus stop right outside, and is maintained fairly well. I rented one of the 'renovated' apartments which means I got newer appliances and maybe a new coat of paint on the walls. The apartments itself was in 'ok' shape. There were paint specs on the floor in multiple rooms from careless painters, the cabinets were scuffed up a bit, and the bathroom left some to be desired in terms of repairs. With that said however, the price and location easily made up for these shortfalls. The few times I needed maintenance were all due to issues with the A/C. The requests were handled quickly and professionally and I always had the issue resolved in less than 24 hours, often less than 12 hours from creating the request. My biggest complaint lies with the laundry room located onsite. I only used the laundry room for the first few months of my lease so things may have changed. The laundry room was always dirty, many of the machines were not working, and those that were did not work well. For the price they were asking to do a load of laundry, it was just not worth it. I ended up buying a little washer/dryer combo machine online so I could do my own laundry in my apartment. Overall, Eastgate Apartments is a perfectly reasonable place to live in College Station. The A&M accessibility to price ratio simply can't be beat. I would definitely recommend it!
