Living here was nonstop stress because management constantly changed the rules and then blamed residents. My car was towed before the deadline they gave me (they later admitted it was a miscommunication and waived the fee, but only after it already happened). Move-out was even worse: I was hit with hundreds of dollars in charges for normal wear and tear, “pet odor” that wasn’t there, and tiny things like a removable sticker and leftover cleaning supplies. Most of the “proof” was estimates made after I moved out, not real invoices or inspections. After move-out, they billed me $788.16 total, including $200 for “general cleaning,” $150 for “pet odor treatment,” $85 for carpet steam cleaning, $110 for blinds, $45 for paint touch-ups, and even $20 to remove two bags of trash. This was all after I had already paid $450 in security and pet deposits, yet I was still told I owed $338 more. Many of these charges were based on estimates created after I moved out, not real invoices or inspections. It felt excessive, punitive, and completely disconnected from the actual condition of the apartment. Even though I paid both a security deposit and a pet deposit, they refused to review anything and just said that i still had to pay or they would send me to collections. The location is fine, but management feels hostile, rigid, and focused on squeezing fees instead of treating tenants fairly. Document everything if you live here. Complete garbage experience and I wish I’d have picked any of the apartment complexes nearby, as there are many options available. It’s also overpriced for what you get, no gym and no community areas, so just go next door to the Triangle or Chelsea Apts for the same price and LESS MONEY.

do not ever move into an apartment building like this one my daughter moved in has the worst experience with the management. I’m in another state. She had utilities hooked up for the move-in day and if you’re not careful, no matter what the lease says, the city of Austin is looking into this file complaints and soothe the landlord they’re trying to collect $55 from a student for one day of service that she didn’t even live in the apartment. Marcus does not resolve anything or even talk to you and May has the worst Customer Service I’ve ever experienced will be posting on as many sites as possible, but this is true.

Just checked my lease 😳! It was a 15-month lease, And I have to give two months notice. Failing to do this gives me a hefty penalty. As per my lease if I do not pay the rent by the 3rd. Penalty and administration fees. Due to the way my paychecks have fallen, this has been a problem a few times. Resulting in fees above $200. They are in partnership with the towing company that tows cars out of here on a regular basis. My car registered with the apartment complex tags in the window was stolen by their towing company. When inquired they said it was a legal toll because the plates were not attached to the car. I've been living here for 9 months. No notice, no warning. No nothing. Just stole my car 🤯 truly wish I'd read the reviews on this place.

Don’t move here. The moving out experience was really bad. The fact that i am one of many who had a really bad move out experience tells this property is committed to being unaccommodating and exploitative. A lot of charges that i was made to pay made no sense and were clearly exploitative. They are causing a lot of their ex-tenants extreme emotional distress and I am truly sympathetic of those that are not able to pursue this matter in small claims court. I hope that the influx of negative comments on Google will provide this company an opportunity to reflect on the kind of impact you hope to have on the Austin community and improve how you handle future cases.

I’ve had such a great experience at Summit at Hyde Park! The community is well-kept, quiet, and feels safe. The apartments are spacious, and I love how close it is to everything I need. The maintenance team is quick to respond and always does a great job, and the office staff are friendly, professional, and genuinely care about residents. I’m so happy I chose Summit at Hyde Park and highly recommend it.
