PROFIT COMES FIRST, RESIDENTS COME LAST!! I’ve lived at The Standard for nearly two years, and re-signing was genuinely one of the biggest mistakes I’ve made as a renter. I pay thousands of dollars per month expecting basic competence, safety, and accountability — none of which this building consistently provides. Most recently, I paid an additional fee for a reserved parking pass, yet the building failed to provide the required permit or documentation to display on my vehicle. Because of their own administrative failure, my car was towed from my assigned parking spot. Despite the front desk receptionist not providing me with accurate documentation, I was blamed by management and was forced to spend hours commuting outside the city and pay hundreds of dollars in towing and storage fees just to get it back. Unfortunately, this incident fits a broader pattern of chronic mismanagement. Elevators are frequently out of service, creating serious safety and accessibility concerns in a high-rise building. There have also been broken water pipes that left residents with little to no water access for extended periods, which is unacceptable under any circumstances — especially at this price point. Security is another ongoing problem. Loose access controls and poor security enforcement have resulted in stolen property within the building, Amazon packages, food, etc, on a regular basis. The most frustrating part is the attitude. Management consistently appears profit-driven and dismissive, showing little concern for the real impact these issues have on tenants’ safety, finances, and daily lives. The amount charged in rent does not reflect the quality of living being delivered. If you’re considering living here, understand this: you can pay on time, follow the rules, and still be left dealing with the consequences of a system that prioritizes revenue over residents. I strongly recommend thinking twice before signing or re-signing a lease here (or anywhere that Landmark Properties owns).

I don’t usually write reviews, but this experience left me genuinely impressed. I’ve toured several places around campus and Austin and this one really stood out. The place itself is stunning, but Kaitlyn was easily the highlight — she’s smart, knowledgeable, and answered all our questions. She made the entire experience easy, relaxed and fun. The amenities and common areas are incredible and the building has great vibes- The Standard is definitely one of the best options in West Campus, and we left seriously impressed - if you’re considering this place make sure to ask for Kaitlyn.

While searching for student housing, I had the chance to tour this property and was really impressed. Kaitlyn did a great job explaining everything and made the visit feel friendly and stress-free. The space itself was modern and well-designed, with great amenities and a welcoming vibe throughout. The Standard definitely feels like one of the strongest housing options in West Campus.

I had an amazing experience thanks to Merritt at the front desk. From the moment I moved in, she was welcoming, professional, and incredibly helpful. Merritt goes above and beyond for residents and visitors—always patient, always friendly, and always willing to solve any issue with a smile. It’s rare to find someone who truly cares about creating a great living experience, but Merritt does exactly that. Their outstanding service makes the entire community feel more comfortable and well-run. She is truly one of the best parts of living here!
