I want to give a huge shoutout to Angelina and Justin from the maintenance team at AMLI at Mueller. I submitted a maintenance request and, in less than 30 minutes, they were at my apartment and took care of everything quickly and thoroughly. Both were extremely pleasant, professional, and efficient. What makes this even more impressive is that this was during the recent freezing weather, when the maintenance team has clearly been under a lot of pressure dealing with building-wide issues. Despite that, they were calm, focused, and did a great job. Truly excellent service and very much appreciated.

For the price, the property is acceptable overall. Not having an on-site leasing office is sometimes inconvenient. Additionally, there is no Google Fiber, cell service inside the apartment is very poor, and residents are responsible for items like light bulbs and air filters. Overall, the property is fine, but there are several areas where updates and follow-through could improve the experience. UPDATE 1/24/25: right before the freeze my heat went out, Ramon came and got it going quickly! UPDATE 1/9/25: Maintenance pulled though and got me a new appliance quicker than exected! Thanks!

I had a number of issues living at the AMLI at Mueller apartments. I lived there a year and couldn’t wait to move out. 1. A piece of the parking garage fell onto my car causing almost $10,000 in damages. The parking garage is crumbling apart over the cars underneath it. Look at the pictures – the parking garage concrete eroded and fell onto the hood of my car and rolled off the front. When I reported this to AMLI, they asked me to submit a claim with my car insurance company. WHAT! This was your complex’s fault – you submit the claim to YOUR insurance company. It took some back and forth but they finally submitted the claim. I was then put through the ringer providing documentation to the insurance company. I had to provide several options for how much the car rental and car repairs would cost. Once that was all submitted, I had to wait for an in-person appraisal which had to be scheduled so he could come to view my car. He just took pictures on his phone (which I had already done and sent them but oh well). He said I would hear back within the next 5 business days. I waited a week and reached out. The insurance company had forgotten to look at the claim (um what??) and then processed it. It cost $9,066.90 for the repairs to my car which included a new windshield, new car hood, new tail light and buffing out the scratches on the front bumper. For context, it cost $1,235.65 for a car rental from May 1 – May 23. That’s right. I was stuck in a car rental for 22 days while they worked on my car. The incident happened on March 3. I got my car back on May 23. It was a long process that I honestly still can’t believe I had to go through. Absolutely wild. Also, AMLI has done nothing to notify the residents. There were questionable sagging/cracking concrete over cars on my last day – I included these pictures. 2. The ants never stopped. I had pest control coming every other week. I had ant traps stationed all along my kitchen floors and the bathroom. They came out from tub faucet, the bathroom sink and from behind the stove. I had to double bag anything in my food pantry. They got into a box of crackers and it was like a small ant farm was living in there. So gross! 3. In all fairness, I was warned by AMLI staff that my apartment overlooks the street between Simond and McBee where the garbage dumpsters are located. They said that trash pick-up is very early in the mornings. I asked ‘how many mornings?’ and they didn’t know. Fun! For reference, trash pick-up is 6 days a week because AMLI and The Thinkery are picked up on different days (cool!). Anywhere between 4am – 9am, you will hear garbage trucks emptying the 7 dumpsters from AMLI. I never slept without ear plugs and even then, you will get woken up. I love hearing the “beep beep beep” of a truck reversing. 4. This is a high foot traffic area. There are street parades on random days. Because there’s a park and children’s museum nearby, it’s a lot of kids and strollers and waiting for people to cross the road. My apartment was catty-corner to the playground in Mueller park. Kids play there all day and scream loudly very late into the night because the lights do not turn off until midnight. The Mueller Park hosts concerts on random weekends. On Sundays it’s the Mueller Farmer’s Market. Every single day there will be an ice cream truck parked in front of the Thinkery Museum. You will hear the same ice cream truck music being played on repeat for hours and hours. I asked AMLI if they could do anything about this but unfortunately it’s a public road. I get it but this drove me crazy! I would just be aware if your apartment is on the side with the garbage dumpsters, ice cream truck and kids’ playground that it is constantly loud. At any time there will be something going on outside of your windows – and I was up on the 5th floor! Maybe not as bad on the other side of the property?? I moved to this neighborhood because I thought it would not be as busy as living downtown. Not true! I moved only 5 min away and it is completely different. So much calmer/quieter.

Shelbi and her team at AMLI at Mueller are incredibly helpful and always eager to make residents feel comfortable and supported. Anytime I’ve needed maintenance, they’ve been timely, communicative, and easy to work with. Overall, it’s been a really positive living experience thanks to how responsive and attentive the staff are.

Constant Break-Ins and Zero Accountability – A 'Luxury' Disaster I don’t recommend anyone move to AMLI Mueller. This was supposed to be a luxury apartment complex, but my family and I are beyond disappointed. They advertise it as a good place to live. However, since moving in, it has been one bad experience after another. This has been by far the worst apartment experience we’ve ever had. 1. Car Theft Attempt in Private Parking: Two weeks ago, someone attempted to steal my car in the so-called “secure” private parking lot, which is supposed to be accessible only to residents. My car’s handle was removed, and the door and ignition system were destroyed. When I reported this to the leasing office, they showed no concern. They told me to contact my insurance and the police, and refused to show me the security camera footage, claiming it would only be provided to law enforcement. Since then, I’ve received no follow-up—not even a courtesy email to check on the situation. I had to pay for the repairs out of pocket, which was both expensive and extremely stressful. Afterward, I decided to check reviews from other residents and was shocked to find numerous complaints about car break-ins and theft attempts in this complex. It’s clear that this is not an isolated incident—this happens repeatedly, and management still refuses to take any responsibility or meaningful action. When I asked to break my lease without penalty due to these ongoing safety concerns, management refused and instead offered an early termination settlement requiring me to pay two months’ rent. This is completely unacceptable, especially considering the significant amount I’ve already spent on repairs for damage caused in their “secure” parking lot. 2. Poor Moving Day Experience: On our scheduled moving day, we arrived at 10:00 AM as planned, along with the moving company we hired. However, the leasing office was closed, and no one responded to our calls for over an hour. This delay forced us to pay extra to the moving company, and the lack of communication was completely unprofessional. 3. Cricket Infestation: In late September, the entire complex was overrun with crickets—both dead and alive. While I understand this can be seasonal, the sheer number of crickets was overwhelming, and many even got into our apartment because the doors weren’t sealed properly. Despite reporting this issue, management showed little interest and only sprayed the floor, which didn’t stop the crickets from coming in. I had to purchase and install my own door protector to fix the problem. 4. Parking Lot Leaks: Whenever it rains, water leaks from floor to floor in the parking lot. This issue makes parking inconvenient and unpleasant, especially for a complex charging luxury rates. In summary, AMLI Mueller has failed to meet even basic standards of safety, communication, and maintenance. It’s outrageous that a place marketed as a luxury complex operates this poorly. My family and I feel unsafe, ignored, and frustrated. If I could give zero stars, I would. Avoid this place at all costs.
