Honestly you very much get what you pay for and I had a pretty good experience living here. Yes the construction wasn’t preferred but it was quick and they made sure to talk with us beforehand if we had any concerns. They were always there when I had questions and made the move-out process very seamless. I’d definitely recommend this apartment to anyone looking for something affordable downtown!

I lived at this property managed and it has easily been one of the worst rental experiences I’ve ever had. I moved out over six weeks ago and still have not received my security deposit, despite multiple follow-ups and providing all required information. As of now, no clear explanation or itemized accounting has been provided. Communication from management throughout this process has been inconsistent at best and dismissive at worst. One of the property managers Elia C was extremely unhelpful throughout my time there. She did not properly help with move in and gave little to no clear instruction for move out which has only made the deposit situation worse. Messages regularly went unanswered and when she did respond it was unreliable or incomplete. Things got much worse toward the end of my lease. Management began unauthorized construction inside occupied apartments where they removed living rooms and converted 4 bedroom units into 5 bedroom units to increase occupancy. Based on others experience it was initially advertised as a 3 bedroom unit. This was done without proper notice and without required permits and it feels like a money grab by increasing room count. Tenants would call 311 which resulted in city inspectors and the Fire Marshal getting involved. Management claimed construction was stopped but in reality work continued inside units even while code inspectors were actively trying to shut it down. Tenants only took these steps to protect their living space and basic safety. During this same period another property manager Joseph physically shoved another tenant during an unauthorized entry related to this construction. Police were called. There were also other repeated instances of management entering apartments without proper notice or consent sometimes while tenants were away. Please see the video! This is only the tip of the iceberg. There were many other ongoing issues including an elevator that was well past its service date, non GFCI outlets in bathrooms and near sinks, windows that could not open at all, and several other safety and maintenance problems.... I also seriously question the legitimacy of many of the positive reviews for this company. There are reviews posted by accounts with names like Biggie Smalls A A and A G which appear to be fake or throwaway accounts clearly meant to make the rating look better. Between the missing deposit unauthorized construction removal of common living space lack of permits unsafe behavior by management police involvement and questionable review practices I would advise anyone considering renting from Capitol Living to look elsewhere. Renters deserve transparency safety and basic professionalism and that was not consistently present here. Please see all attached photos of the tenant chat discussing the matter (with names, numbers and profile pictures scribbled out)

I’ve had a positive experience living here. The building is consistently clean and well maintained, and the management team is responsive whenever something needs attention. The location is ideal, with shops, restaurants, and transportation nearby, which makes daily life very convenient. Overall, it’s been a comfortable place to live.

This complex offered fair rent, well maintained lodgings, and a convenient gym. Stephen, the apartment manager, was helpful and friendly. The management company is honest However, the a new company is now managibg the facility. I cannot attest to their performance. But people people that currently live there say they are terrible.
