The Addison at South Congress

I am currently living here on my second lease. During this lease, my car was stolen, and later my laptop and other personal devices were stolen from my car. Management’s response was essentially that it was “poor luck” and that nothing could be done to improve security. Afterward, they sent a general safety email to residents, but no real actions were taken. I do not feel safe living here and am now waiting for my lease to end. The only positive is that maintenance requests are handled quickly, but safety is far more important, and this community falls short in that area.

Safety concern: The loose rocks/pebbles from the landscaping along Esperanza Crossing near Addison Apartments constantly spill into the bike lane on both sides of the road. This creates a serious hazard for cyclists and increases the risk of slipping or accidents. The bike lane is often unusable and forces cyclists closer to traffic. Hoping management addresses this before someone gets hurt.

I had a very frustrating experience with Addison@Kramer. First, they were not upfront about the constant train noise that comes through the apartment at all hours in building 6. Had I known how loud and disruptive it was, I never would have signed the lease. To make matters worse, when it was time to move out, they insisted on a written notice even though we clearly told them we would be traveling for a week. Instead of being understanding or flexible, they demanded that we submit a written notice otherwise, we would have to pay a weeks worth of extra rent. And the worst part: after moving out, they wrongfully charged us for damages we absolutely did NOT cause. These charges felt completely unjustified, and dealing with them has been nothing but stressful. For a minor chip on the bathroom floor, they have charged us 505 dollars under the explanation that entire shower panel and tub needs to be replaced. The staff is not easy to deal with. Overall, the lack of transparency, poor communication, and unfair billing practices make me strongly recommend avoiding this agency. There are plenty of places to live—don’t choose one that treats its tenants like this.
