Move here if you like the idea of its maintenance guy jeff talking down to you like you're a stupid misbehaving kindergartener because you want your air conditioner to be fixed in summer. pretty much any task he has to do, he acts like it's a huge burden that he resents you for. Melissa the manager is cool though. and the location is nice. also this place has a huge german cockroach problem, and many of its residents have resigned to it and don't even bother trying to clean up. So even if you keep a clean house, they'll come to you from your neighbors.

I had stayed at Lantana Apartments for a year between the summers of 2021 and 2022, and I would like to highlight my experience of renting an apartment here. First up, a big shout out to Jeff the maintenance guy. He’s been extremely active on the field getting complaints resolved in no time. I believe he is Lantana’s biggest asset. Also, the property manager Melissa ensured I had a smooth stay here and she was available at her office almost daily (barring weekends) for 3-4 hours. Let’s have a look at some pros here: - Proximity to UT – its close to impossible to find apartments this reasonably priced and this close to the university - Reasonably priced – given that this place is so close to the university, the West Campus neighborhood and downtown, the price is almost a steal - Large rooms – I have been to a few other apartments in Austin and the rooms here are certainly larger - Swimming Pool (check the photo) – It’s a decent sized pool with lots of lounge chairs, tables and BBQ grills - Management – Property manager and maintenance would hear all problems and find quick solutions, no complaints there And, some cons: - Poor AC units / bad weather insulation – While not a problem in all apartments, some apartments (with windows facing the street) heat up during the summer months with the AC not performing quite so well. Its either the AC unit not functioning as required (which I was told was perfectly fine and had no problems) or the apartments having poor insulation letting in too much heat than the AC unit can handle. This led to high electricity costs in order to keep the temperature under 75F. - Few Dryers – The laundry room has 7 washing machines but only 3 dryers for 50 apartments (~100 residents at the minimum). And given that drying usually took twice as long as washing a load, this meant having to wait with all dryers occupied or having to schedule my laundry at odd hours (did my laundry at 2AM one time). This is something that could be improved – either add more washers/dryers or add those newer ones that sync with your phone and let you know if there is availability in the laundry room. - Poor natural light in one of the bedrooms in 2b2b – The bedroom with a window on the inside for each of the 2b2b apartments had poor natural light if you valued your privacy. These windows are full length ones and open into the passageway. In all probability, you would keep the curtains drawn over these windows at all times, meaning close to no natural light at all. All things said, these are good apartments for the price and would certainly recommend them to incoming students at UT and others who need to work at downtown.

I loved Lantana! #Affordable #Clean #Swimming Pool #Gym room #Professional #West Campus I lived in one of the 3B3B apartments and find it meets all of my needs. The property is well maintained, quiet and the entire staff (from the property manager Melissa to Maintenance person Jeff;) are the best!!! I have placed a couple of work orders and they were promptly filled within one day and completed with quality. The complex is also pet friendly and is just few mins walk from UT campus. They have a good work-out room and the pool is very popular. The apartments are nice and affordable. I would definitely recommend this apartment community to anyone looking for a new home near UT campus / downtown office.

I've been here since June of 2020. I have enjoyed the quietness and the peaceful neighbors. Melissa (mgr) and Jeff (maintenance) have been exceptional. Any issues any problems are solved ASAP! I'm not a fan of apartments, but I have enjoyed living here. The complex is close to almost everything under the sun Downtown Austin and other surrounding areas. The property is always clean, especially the POOL!!!! Weight room has all you need for free at your fingertips. UT students love this place. 😀. My 2nd year here already, and still, no complaints. Thank you Melissa and Jeff for taking such great care of US and the PROPERTY!!

I loved living here. Yes, it’s an older complex but it’s small, quiet (even being across from west campus) and our maintenance requests were fulfilled by the awesome Jeff almost immediately. Side note, I mean small as in the number of units. My roommate and I’s apartment was a very good size for a two bed/two bath and we lived in walking distance of West sixth. Staff and neighbors were very friendly and understanding. A lot of great memories were made here that I will cherish for life.
