Ion has been amazing so far! The apartments are great, and the appliances and utilities included are a great deal. Also, the staff is SUPER nice and can answer most questions. HOWEVER, there is a slight problem I have with this place... I CAN'T ACCESS MY APARTMENT!!! There are three elevators, one of which has been out the entire semester so far, and I don't think it has ever been operational since the building was constructed. Of the TWO remaining elevators (for 19 floors 😍), one periodically breaks, and it takes them a full decade to even start fixing it. In the event that ALL elevators break, I'm willing to bet my life's savings that they would only fix one. I will be editing this review to 5 Stars when they resolve this issue (including fixing the third, and never operational elevator). For context, I will never be editing this review 😒.

I moved into ion this semester. SO FAR, the only thing that's BUGGING me is that the elevators are never fully operational. I would have to wait ten minutes on average. the situation is really frustrating since they don't seem to really care about fixing them. One of the elevators has been down since the start of the semester, and currently there's only one working elevator left. I expect to be only taking the stairs soon.

THERE ARE A TOTAL OF THREE ELEVATORS, but there's never a time where all three are functional. there's always at least one down, and at times amazingly two are down. IF YOU EVER LIVE HERE, EXPECT TO ALWAYS BE LATE TO YOUR CLASSES FROM WAITING FOR THE ELEVATOR FOR 15 MINUITES. Taking stairs are not even an option If you live above 10 floors.

First day moving in, I dropped off my things and came back to find three bugs in the restroom, a small roach, both a spider and a silverfish in the sink. My last apartment rarely had pest issues, so this was a rough surprise (especially on floor 6-9 and barely moved in). Bring bug spray just in case. Another note: They provide a TV, but you’ll need to buy cable for it to work. The place itself is fine (the style is a bit outdated), but the bug situation is concerning…

Ion was a great place to live for my time at UT Austin! I stayed there for 3 years and I loved everything about it from the community, the kind employees, the amenities, and the proximity to campus. I felt that the apartments themselves were very nice and I loved the view from my room. I'm gonna miss this apartment and I definitely recommend that anyone who is a UT student checks out this complex!
