The worst living experience you can have, and it doesn't end even when you move out. To start, throughout my time at Hillside Creek my car was broken into three times. My heat went out during freezing temperatures and was not repaired for three weeks, ultimately killing my plants and one of my pets. Homeless were regularly allowed to wander the property, digging through the dumpsters and tossing trash everywhere. They regularly misplaced my renters insurance and ultimately charged me hundreds in fees for their mistake. The leasing office was indifferent to all of this. After I had enough and decided to move out, I thought that I was finally free of the terrible management. I gave my notice and when the time came, I turned in my keys and paid my final bills. All was good until I noticed nearly three months later that a collections was on my credit. I was never notified in any capacity that I owed money via email, call, text or otherwise. I would have happily paid any money legitimately owed. They just made up a number and gave it to a debt collector. My account through the Hillside Creek payment portal had been long closed after my final payment and to my knowledge it was in good standing. To call them incompetent would be to give them the benefit of the doubt. Avoid this place at all costs if you value safety, reliable maintenance, fair billing, and your credit score.

Do not live here! This is the worse place you can ever live! I have been in Austin over 4 years now and this is the worse place that I have ever lived! Management is absolutely trash! The apartment it self is the worse! They try to charge you for anything they can! What apartment tries to constantly tow its own residents car!?!? They switch rules every month it feels like, send emails that are never received and expect renters to know everything, I find bugs all over my apartment all the time, I have had to have the office do a bug infestation twice while living here! They constantly shut the water off! They tell you one thing and do another! I have had homeless people break into my apartment(picture is attached) they tried to make me pay for the damage! Had things stolen! Had car broken into! I pay for rent and try to leave every chance I get! Everyone I know that lives here hates it! We all came because it was cheap! But I would rather spend an extra money and not have to deal with all I have had to put up with in this place! They are plenty other better options close by!

HORRIBLE!! DO NOT LIVE HERE! Cars are constantly broken into and when you notify the leasing office they could care less. If anything, they’ll give you attitude and zero empathy. When asked if security is even doing their job I was told “well security isn’t here to just make sure YOUR car isn’t broken into” what’s the point of security if it’s not to make sure our property is safe and not being broken into?? My belongings were thrown everywhere outside my car and security didn’t notice?? But my neighbors did?? Pathetic. I asked if they could check the one singular camera they have at the front office to see if they could possibly see who entered the complex between a certain time and they told me no with an attitude. It’s almost like helping people actually annoys them. Even with the constant homeless people coming in and out the complex, and the break ins, they refuse to put camera around the area. Also my sink ended up overflowing with water constantly and it took them over a week (after me making constant calls and requests from maintenance) to get to it, now there’s water damage in the counters and in the cabinets. The floors and counters were covered in grease and I practically had to beg them to send a cleaning lady in because after all, the damage and disgusting filth that was left over was due to their negligence. Even then, the cleaning lady didn’t do anything but just pour bleach everywhere and called it a day. Floors still disgusting, the dishwasher smelling like mold, and the severe water damage. Random things happen like something inside the A/C unit that is right outside my window exploded releasing such a burning gas that it burned all the greenery that was around it to dust. Imagine if someone was walking by, they would’ve been seriously injured. This place is a safety hazard. All I’ve been met with here is just attitude and a hard time. Worst leasing staff I’ve ever come across. I’ve lived in some real rough areas and even then they had a helpful staff. If you do choose to live here (which is going to be a mistake I promise you) make sure you take photos of everything, I mean everything, because god forbid something happens, they will put you as the blame. Again, do not live here. It’s not worth the future stress you will be put through.

This place has predatories business practices. This is probably my fault but I was moving from out of state and didn't get to tour the property. Upon arrival, I realized the place was in front of a homeless camp with a 7Eleven playing loud music 24/7. Bad smell, cars broken into and rampant insecurity were common. Few days in the appartment, and couldn't sleep as the AC was noisy. The dishwasher would also release bad water and smell out of nowhere, called maintenance twice, issue happened thrice. I ultimately had to move out due to work, went to talk with management, paid all fees they said I had to pay, signed papers and moved out. 10 months later, I received a call from a debt collector from them, called Hillside, they sent me a new bill and they hung up on me. I looked at the bill and the charges are for after I had moved out. I emailed them and hadn't heard back, they basically made up a debt and sold it to debt collectors and left me to deal with it, 10 month after move out date in violation of Texas laws that require them to contact the tenant first and within 30 days of move out.
