This is a quiet and clean condo complex with 72 condo units, each individually owned. I have lived in my 2 bedroom condo at East University Place since July 2021 and have loved the experience. The best part about this condo complex is the location, Cherrywood is an awesome and safe neighborhood in central east Austin for a single woman. There are tons of bars and restaurants a short walking distance. All of my neighbors are quiet and so sweet, I really feel like I’m part of a community here. The condo complex was built in the 1960’s but my unit is fully renovated, stainless steel appliances and hardwood floors. I love the easy access to UT, medical district etc. This is one of the last affordable condo complexes in an increasingly expensive neighborhood!

so i stayed at eastside commons for a 5 day stay while moving to austin, and i have pretty mixed feelings about it. to start: i can admit i have very high standards for cleanliness, so it may not bother others near as much as it did myself, but this space is not the most well cared for, and does not seem to be deep cleaned in any way. in the unit we stayed in, the bathroom & under the kitchen sink both absolutely reek of urine. the floors are very dirty, and i had to deep clean the washing machine for it to even be useable. we found old fast food wrappers under the couch, and a concerning amount of crumbs in the couch cushions too. the brita filter has not been changed in 3 months and smells of mold. there are also strange cracks in the bedroom doors, and bits of paint/stucco are falling from around the AC vents. mgmt seemed unwilling to actually address the intense smell of urine problem, and just left glade plugins (which i’m allergic to anyway), calling them “essential oil diffusers”, which they are not. also, the wifi hardly works, so if you were expecting to get any work done while staying here, good luck with that. this is at a great location, very nice to walk around in. truly a wonderful neighborhood, and the complex is very cute. with the clean beds, well-stocked kitchen essentials, extra TP, and nice-enough mgmt, this is a fine space — just incompetently “cleaned” b/w stays. i’ve seen some other reviews from folks who were longer term tenants that regret living here, so i can definitely only recommend this spot for a short-term stay — just steer clear of unit #105.

Old Building & Terrible Management - DO NOT RENT Hello, I stayed at EUP for over a year since I was stuck on my lease. Apartment 123 and 116A. Buildings are very old so you can expect problems with clogging, leaks, and bugs/roaches. I suffered multiple rats encounters. I was living between rat traps because management did not give me any other solution. I got two bikes stolen from the place and no answer from management. Very very disappointed. Do not make the same mistake that I did because you may be tempted during a visit.

This place was an ok place for an airbnb, a little too dodgy for my taste but it was very clean and they had made some recent updates in the apartment. Full kitchen, washer/dryer combo, and water pressure that will blow the skin off your face. For the amount of people that we were with it slept everyone comfortably for the short time we were there at an affordable price, way better than paying for two hotel rooms.
