Decent accommodation for the area. Parking is modest, not too bad. Building in good condition. Good accessibility.

Appliances are old and lack maintenance, AC and washer broke down within a week of my move in, had to suffer 87f heat and hand wash all my clothes for two weeks

I lived at Buckingham Apartments during the 2023-2024 school year. Out of all my years attending UT, this was my favorite apartment. It is in a nice, quiet area but only a short walk away from delicious food/entertainment. The apartment itself was spacious, modern, and clean. My favorite part was the upstairs bedrooms windows, which provided a ton of mid-afternoon to evening light for my plants. The commute to the UT campus is also not bad at all, definitely walkable; I rode my bike when I went to campus and it took ~6 minutes. The acquisition of this property by Rainier Management only made things better. Rainier Management answered service requests and other inquiries promptly and were otherwise great landlords. I would highly recommend this complex to anyone, student or not. Disclaimer: I am not being paid, this is just how I feel.

Leaving a 5 star review for the AMAZING maintenance team! My A/C went out over a super hot Memorial Day weekend, and I was so worried my husband and I would have to find a hotel or another place to stay. I called the emergency maintenance line early in the morning, not expecting anything to come out of it like in apartments I’ve had in the past, but was pleasantly surprised. Roberto came within the hour early in the morning and helped set us up with a window unit so that we wouldn’t cook inside and could stay at home. Alex came by on Tuesday and fixed the unit’s air conditioning. He figured out the problem and fixed it that day! Big shout out to Alex and Roberto for their hard work on a long weekend! They really came through for us :)

We moved in a few months ago and there is a lot to like: the location is fantastic, the complex is new, tidy and very homey. We like the neighborhood. Appliances are not top notch, but in good working condition. Our maintenance requests were addressed quickly and the manager kindly worked with us to accommodate our complicated travel schedule when we moved in - which was a huge help. Can't confirm the complaints about thin walls either. Overall we would have enjoyed living here quite a bit, had it not been for (petty) crime. We had two bikes and several accessories stolen on multiple occasions within less than three months. The only bike rack available is in a dark corner of the parking lot and right by the street and the lease explicitly prohibits locking bikes anywhere else. We provided the management with multiple suggestions on how to address the situation (for example by putting up a fence around the rack, installing extra lights or cameras) but they said there was little they could do to help. It's unfortunate, because the apartments are generally too small to keep bikes inside. If you want to use a bike to move around Austin, this might not be the best place for you.
