Update*** They are clearly retaliating against me for the reviews. My new apartment complex reached out to them for a rental verification. They said i never lived there. You guys looked real stupid when i sent them my signed and dated lease from when i moved in. I have been living here for about ten months. Since day one I have had an unreal roach problem. They are impossible to get rid of. Buildings are super old and poorly maintained. Your power bill will be through the roof. Ac units drop like flies and it takes them some time be replaced so prepare for that. Never had an issue with the old property manager. She was always nice to me and did what she could but I get the feeling she was stretched too thin. Lots and lots of crime. Fighting in the parking lot, vehicle theft almost every weekend etc. we have had some kind of heath problems for months ( took us a while to narrow down what was going on). We both saw drs, getting aergy tests and mold tests etc. my wife would wake up every morning with her eyes swollen shut and barely able to breathe. I would get rashes and be so itchy that I couldn’t sleep . Docs prescribed us medicines and creams blah blah blah. We submitted multiple work order requests for someone to come look at what we think is black mold. Our physicians and own research points to this being the culprit. Well new property management company Fowler took control of the property on the 15th of this month, I went into the office yesterday the 17th. The new property manager and I believe the hvac guy were there. While she was nice enough to hear me, she was immediately dismissive saying oh no, can’t be black mold. Keep in mind they have never been in my unit and have only had the property for two days. All three of us chatted for a bit, hvac guy recommended some half assed solutions like uv lights and air purifiers that would hopefully cut the problem “in half”. I told them that were were no longer sleeping at the apartment due to health issues and being that my wife is pregnant, we can’t risk being somewhere like that. At this point I explained that it was my intention to break the lease if legally possible and that I still needed to talk to a lawyer to see if that was an option. They seemed somewhat understanding and offered to come take a look at what I thought was black mold ( I’m not a mold specialist so I understand them wanting to see it). I said that would be very nice. So I go back to my unit to change out of my uniform and receive a call from the office stating that they would not be coming to look at it and that I needed to have my lawyer call their lawyer. It’s important to point out that once they sent the link to change web applications I did and submitted a new work order request on the new portal. They said all the old ones through the old portal are null and void….. statutes say that they have either a week to respond or 1 month, I’m not a lawyer so it’s hard for me to interpret. Long story short, I we cannot live in our apartment because it could be killing us, the new property management will not come look at it and now I have to get a lawyer. These companies prey on residents that are barely getting by and scare them out of standing up for themselves with court costs and litigation. I would love to settle this without having to go that route, but they are backing me into a corner. Edit** It is now the 21st and it appears that they have removed my review. Doesn’t show up for me or anyone that looks for it. Again I check on my review and is being hidden. Today is aug 3. They have never once reached out, never answer the phone or return messages.**** aug 31, it appears they continue to take my review down but have never reached out to talk.
