Brownstone Apartments

Let’s start off by saying these are the worst. The manager is very rude and doesn’t care about tenants. She charged me $1000 for deposit and turned around and said I didn’t pay it. I’m glad I had the receipts for the money order or she would’ve kept lying. Let’s get started on maintenance yes they’re a joke. They can’t, didn’t, don’t fix anything. The place is roach infested and she will claim to have pest control come out BEWARE RUN STAY FAR AWAY. I had a whole in the garage and it was leaking so bad, I told her and she never fixed it but wanted her rent , I kept my rent money and moved elsewhere after she said she will let me out my lease. She didn’t and she put an eviction on my name but I’m grateful to my new landlord who watched the videos of her saying she will let me out my lease and didn’t. Now I’m in a better place. Her name is Christina she’s a big wide Hispanic woman that thinks she’s the best manager and she will claim she’s corporate so you won’t report her. I was in apt 332 and the floors squeak so loudly and all she can say was at least if someone break in I’ll hear them and laughed like it was a joke. The girls next door have dogs that bark all night long .

INFESTED WITH ROACHES!🪳 it’s nice to see the property is under new management but even they can’t save what’s already taken over these apartments. I moved here two years ago when I was pregnant with my first baby & everything was fine the first year. I’ve never dealt with roaches ever in my life, & upon move in my friend told me it reeked of roach killer. Me giving the place a chance I thought it was just standard with pest control. I was TERRIBLY wrong & that was just the start of a terrible chain of events. The summers are INSANELY HOT because the units lack insulation, even maintenance at the time agreed. The vent in my bathroom was filled with mold and management at the time did NOTHING, knowing I had a newborn! Water was pooling in my ceiling from the rain, and don’t even get me started on getting a stacked washer and dryer up the stairs and in the tiniest closet ever. But my biggest concern was the severity of the roaches. They started in my garage and worked their way up. Check behind your fridge, stove, top of the dishwasher (literally use your flash, they hide in the space between the counter & top of the dishwasher) it wasn’t until I signed my second year lease that I realized how severe the infestation was. I would get up at 2am to feed my daughter and the roaches would scatter as soon as the light came on! I even had an uber pick me up one day and the driver said he used to do pest control there and that the apartments needed to be demolished it was so bad. This is beyond management. It’s health department level infestation, I kid you not. I stopped cooking in my kitchen because a roach would run past my plate as I’m trying to plate my food! it’s sad to see the higher ups know how unstable the living conditions are here & choose to hide it instead of doing the right thing and give the people in this area an affordable, CLEAN place to live. I waited to say my peace because last management harassed me so bad I was honestly terrified of even leaving a review. But the city really needs to give this a look. An entire year of firsts with my first born will always have this attached to it & I’d hate for anyone else to have to deal with what I did.
