Butternut Ridge Apartments are an incredible place to live! One of the things that drew us to this apartment complex, was the great reviews regarding the maintenance team and the responsiveness, and they did not disappoint! Whenever the occasional issue arose the team quickly addressed our concerns or reached out to keep us updated on what was to do. This complex also makes their residents feel incredibly welcome, with their multitude of social gathering events, giveaways and even individualized birthday cards with treats! The provided community pool and gym is very nice and always very well kept clean. We really enjoyed our time at Butternut Ridge and would highly recommend it to others looking for a apartment to stay at!

My experience at Butternut Ridge has unfortunately aligned with many of the concerns mentioned in previous reviews. This community has potential, but the overall experience does not justify the premium rent residents are paying. While I understand management has policies to follow and jobs to protect, there needs to be stronger accountability and proactive oversight from Nolan Living to ensure the property is properly maintained. Residents are paying significant rent and deserve consistent upkeep and responsiveness. The property needs updated appliances, more reliable and timely maintenance support, and better attention to daily operational responsibilities. Preventative maintenance should be prioritized so issues are addressed before they become larger problems. Safety is also a serious concern. Anyone can walk into the buildings without restriction, which does not provide residents with a sense of security. Drivers frequently speed through the property, and there are children who wait for the school bus here. Speeding vehicles create an unnecessary and dangerous risk. Quality-of-life concerns are also ongoing. The smell of marijuana is frequently present throughout the buildings. In addition, some tenants allow their dogs to bark continuously at all hours of the night and early morning. Living in a shared building should come with reasonable noise expectations, and these issues significantly impact residents’ ability to feel comfortable in their own homes. The parking lots require better upkeep. Ice buildup, potholes, and general deterioration create hazards for both adults and children. Parking is also extremely limited during the summer months. Many tenants bring multiple guests, leaving residents who actually pay rent struggling to find parking in their own community. Additionally, receiving a letter months after moving out stating that you owe money because the apartment was “not up to date” is concerning and feels unethical. These types of issues should be addressed transparently and in a timely manner, not long after a tenant has vacated the property. I’m moving out here soon and my hope is that transparency is kept at the forefront of me moving out. Overall, there are clear opportunities for improvement. Stronger maintenance standards, better safety enforcement, parking management, and more transparent post-move-out processes would go a long way in reducing the constant turnover of tenants and improving the overall living experience but that is in the hands of the owners of Nolan Living. Adding to this I am upset to see my monthly bill and see. If you want to improve the resident experience, please stop adding new charges to our monthly bill. I was surprised to see a "Common Area Electric and Gas" fee. When I called the office, Shawn explained that it's intended to cover the cost of keeping the building's lights and gas on. I understand this fee may be permitted under the lease and can be implemented at renewal. However, a heads-up and a clear explanation before it appeared on our bill would have been appreciated. To be honest, I don't feel the property provides value for what we're paying. The trash compactor has gone down multiple times, my ceiling is currently leaking, and it's obvious from previous repairs that this has been an ongoing issue. These recurring maintenance problems have made living here frustrating. There are also very few amenities for families, including no dedicated place for children to play. When I've contacted the office to raise concerns, I often feel that the response is to place the blame on the tenant instead of listening and working toward a solution. That's discouraging as a resident. I'm also concerned about being asked to pay for utilities associated with the building's common areas. I expect to pay for the utilities I personally use in my apartment, but I don't believe residents should be responsible for the operating costs of the building's shared spaces. It raises the question of what additional operating expenses may be passed on to residents in the future.
