Management is poor, disorganized, and weirdly passive aggressive and the buildings are very old and poorly maintained. They lost one of my documents about my emotional support animal, they sent me an already filled out move out form with someone's personal information, and they brushed off health concerns about the mold infestation we experienced after a flood. They charged over $400 and kept our security deposit to replace the carpet due to a few stains on the underside even though they would have had to replace the carpet regardless since the unit had flooded and was covered in mold. After the flood, they sent someone to vacuum up the water and gave us a dehumidifier/fan. They did nothing else. Later, we found mold. We told maintenance who said a carpet cleaning and a store bought (by us) fungicide would fix it. We requested a check of the drywall to ensure there was no mold inside the walls and were denied because 'mold couldn't have grown in the walls with no insulation.' Mold can 100% grow on drywall even without insulation. After the carpet cleaning, we got dehumidifiers/fans. We used them until the carpet was dry but after returning them, the apartment grew so humid that we had to bring them back in. We had them running for weeks but it didn't fix the humidity so the mold came back and was now black mold. Management didn't take this seriously, it took days and several calls/emails for someone to come out. Maintenance just wiped the mold off the walls and left. Eventually, I got management to set up a vent cleaning, since mold was on the outside of the vents and I feared it was in the whole vent system but this took months to get done and was treated as a nuisance by the property manager. Now that I no longer live there, my health has drastically improved. Beyond the mold issue, the apartments suck. Everything is loud since the walls are so thin- neighbors literally just existing/walking or the HVAC system running. The other tenants are disrespectful and noisy (screaming matches in the hallways, doing donuts in the parking lot at 2am, or blasting music at all hours). People are constantly smoking weed and stinking up the whole building- management would respond to complaints by sending out complex-wide emails telling people to stop smoking weed but this did not work. No one picks up after their dogs, and some people don’t even leash their dogs. The laundry facilities are ancient, the machines don’t work properly. We got infested with ants every spring. There were very frequent solicitors that came through offering things who wouldn’t take no for an answer. You have to pay for the apartment’s provided internet despite it being slow and borderline unusable even if you don’t use it. When we first moved in they made everyone pay a monthly fee for cable tv even if you didn’t use it. Maintenance is 50/50 on if they will show up or if they’ll just mark the issue as solved and never come by. Our first maintenance request after moving in was marked complete TWICE without anyone ever actually showing up. Once our tub erupted with brown slime because they were apparently flushing the pipes next door. We were told to just clean it up ourselves and that it happens sometimes. They increase rent every year despite the apartments not being upgraded and us always paying on time. We started renting our 1 bedroom first floor apartment for $889 per month (plus $60 pet rent and utilities) and by the time we left 3 years later, they wanted us to pay a base rent of $1009 per month (or $1029 if we did not renew within 3 weeks of the renewal letter). I could brush this off as the economy being terrible if our exact unit wasn't immediately listed with a cheaper rent on their website once we gave our move out notice. Even now, 1 bedroom first floor apartments are cheaper than that renewal offer. They also wanted to charge us $90 in pet rent for two cats despite pet rent being only $30 per pet. The only explanation I can think of is that they attempted to (illegally) charge me for my emotional support animal on top of the two pets.

Just renewed our lease for our second year. The location is great, and rent is affordable. Maintenance teams are professional and quick. Office staff welcoming and care about the tenants. Would definitely recommend this complex if you’re moving to the area!
