Nothing upscale however it's new-ish, in a somewhat secluded area, safe environment, well maintained, 24/7 maintenance who always handles things quickly, fairly large pool with nice patio setup, surprisingly large / well-equipped gym for an apartment. Few negatives.... Staff flipped a while back the new property manager is very passive aggressive , defensive and dismissive. Almost as if she a chip on her shoulder. To my understanding her past industry employment was dealing with section 8 housing and that's fairly obvious. Every few weeks on the weekends late night there are groups of anywhere from 10 or 12 up to as much as 60 or 70 people that show up to party at the clubhouse and don't live here. Probably because for about 7 months now the back door to the main clubhouse is always unlocked. Don't see why a PIN code gate is out the question as a large portion of modern ish complexes have them and are fairly standard. Members of my family have lived there for a little over a year so I am there very frequently. Twice there have been cars broken into.. two nights spaced out by about 3 months there were anywhere from 10 to 15 cars per night... Windows broke glove boxes and etcetera gone through. Doubt it was someone living in the complex. Apparently even though there are numerous cameras around the complex none of them work or at least not during those times... Bottom line is assuming the break-ins were isolated incidents by people coming into our neighborhood..... Unless you are an extremely picky person you will be happy living here unless you need help from any employee who is not on the maintenance staff.

Maintenance has always been awesome. New manager is unapproachable, has a nasty attitude (on more than one occasion), blames other staff members when you question a discrepancy with anything. Locks on the doors were never fixed so anyone can access the buildings from the back side, and anyone can use the common area in the lodge (and has. A group of 70ish people who dont even live here threw a party and cops were called. Guess what still isnt fixed? Locks.) Some amenties that have locks are locked up after the staff leaves (which are the same hours I work) because the manager said people arent cleaning up after themselves. Yet I pay for the amenities and ALSO for the grounds and clubhouse to be maintained. My kids and I used the movie theatre weekly. Havent in months now.

Editing my review as I move out after almost two years of living at Timbers. I’m sad to be leaving this community, and I wouldn’t be moving if I hadn’t taken a job in a different state. I have absolutely loved living at Timbers. As a woman living alone, I always felt safe on the property and in the surrounding areas. And, my neighbors were very friendly! :) I lived in a one bedroom apartment (“the juniper”), and it was perfect—clean, new amenities, and a great layout. Leasing staff and maintenance were incredibly helpful and easy to reach, but I rarely had any issues that I needed them for. There are two access points to Alum Creek Trail, and I walked my dog on the trail nearly every day. The proximity to central Westerville was lovely! Finally, the amenities at Timbers are fantastic. Great pool, sand volleyball, dog park, and clubhouse. And, I can’t say enough about the gym! I had never lifted weights prior to moving to Timbers, but in the past two years, I have gone 4-6x weekly, all thanks to the variety of high quality equipment, adequate space, and accessibility of the gym at Timbers. Huge thank you to the team at Birge & Held for all they do to make Timbers such a great place to live!

I have lived here for two to three years, and there are serious safety and management issues that have been completely ignored. Pool Rules Are Not Enforced People who don't live here use the pool regularly and leave without anyone stopping them. Management set a closing time that nobody follows. Children are left unattended with no lifeguard. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. The Grills Are a Hazard The grills have been broken since I moved in. Wires hang from the front of them and they haven't been cleaned in years. Residents leave the propane running trying to get them to work. Exposed wiring and a gas leak is a dangerous combination that management has ignored for years. The Roofs Have Been Damaged for Months A windstorm ripped shingles off several roofs months ago. Management threw tarps over the holes and never came back. Those tarps are still there. With El Nino expected this year, residents are going to be dealing with leaks and water damage inside their homes. New Management Is the Root of the Problem The new management replaced everyone who was friendly and helpful. The office is empty most of the time despite posted hours of 8 to 5, Monday through Friday. They also split staff from this complex to cover two other buildings to save money. The new manager's only experience is Section 8 housing and it shows. A more qualified candidate was passed over just to go with the cheapest option. The Gym Is Neglected Weights are never reracked. A bench has been sitting unassembled near the entrance for almost a year. The bathroom is rarely cleaned, cobwebs are everywhere, the wipe-down spray is never refilled, and there are never paper towels. You Can't Use the Amenities You Pay For When someone rents the clubhouse, security guards are posted at both doors blocking residents from the coffee machine and movie theatre. The rental agreements are not explained properly and paying tenants lose access to their own amenities. The Coffee Machine Has Ants Constantly. Management has never fixed it. People are drinking ant-infested coffee and don't even know it. The Dog Wash Is Filthy Dog hair coats the entire basin after every use. It smells terrible. The complimentary shampoo is long gone and nobody cleans it. Bottom Line This place is not luxury living. I would say more but there is a character limit. The office is never staffed, trash litters the complex, and non-residents go wherever they want. Safety hazards have gone unaddressed for over two years. I already know the response will be "We are looking into it." Save it. If you are considering moving here, look elsewhere.

I had a previous rating but from when I first moved in, and it didn’t have a comment, so I deleted it to post this review. Me and my wife just moved out after 3 years at Timbers and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there! I especially loved the clubhouse, the gym and the alum creek trail, as well as all the food trucks they would have stop by. We’ve always had positive interactions with Jonathan and Daliya and maintenance requests were always fulfilled immediately. It’s a great community in a great location and we will definitely miss living there. Thank you for everything!
